When you’re born, through genetics you have predisposition to feel more or less Cognitive dissonance. Cognitive dissonance is the feeling you get whenever you’re your ideas and opinions are in contrast with that of another person’s or when your actions don’t match your beliefs. If not dealt with it turns into physical headaches and stress. This dissonance functions by making us come together and communicate for survival. If you look around you’ll see that like attracts like. People are attracted to other people with similar ideas because it is reaffirming and makes us feel good by reducing that dissonance. It makes us feel normal. You’re more likely to feel you are correct when other people agree. People will usually use the easiest method to reduce dissonance. Some people, join clubs, teams, or go to church with other people who have similar beliefs. Some people exercise and others use drugs like Tylenol or alcohol. A sense of normlessness is called anomie and can lead to depression and even suicide. In those like groups the ideas polarize and become more extreme while their members become more confident in their conclusions. Middle Eastern religious extremists use religion to enable them to become suicide bombers. If you look at the histories of religion you see a pattern. Each religion helps their society deal with their unique life situation for better or worse. The Egyptians had their sun god ect. Therefore, trying to change someone’s religion can make them less adapt to the issues they face in their life. Unfortunately the function of religion is not to show us the truth but to relieve the dissonance by giving us a set of beliefs that tell us what is normal.

Evidence seems to point to the fact that Jesus was a mythological figure patterned after earlier "God-men" figures that were prevalent in pagan Mystery Religions such as Dionysus, Adonis, Osiris, etc. Is there any concrete evidence to support the actual existence of the man described in the Bible known as Jesus besides second hand and heresay accounts of church apologists decades after Jesus supposedly lived?

I think that it is soo funny how Christian bashers take totally random scriptures and pretend that they know the meaning... and then post them on hear like they are some intelligent person... like they are showing us "Holy Rollers" some truth that makes us or God look soo terrible. HA HA.. It's just pathetic.. and then they claim to have read the Bible all the way through. Which... if they did they wouldn't have so many questions... Because it explains itself. Or, they think that they can find places where the Bible contradicts itself. it's just so funny... and the examples that they give are so bogus. and don't change the faith at all... it's like... minor details that they take wrong.. but they think it makes us(christians) some sort of liar... and them some genius guru...
It's just funny... ha ha ha...

As a gay man, I find it odd that people ask why we "choose" to be gay. I consider myself a pretty normal guy and am very proud of who I am however I certainly would not have "chosen" to be gay. I want kids someday and that process would be MUCH simpler if I could be with a woman.

Does the New Testament invalidate the covenant the Jews had?

I believe the Catholic Church acknowledge two covenants (One for Christians and one for Jews, not 100% sure). What of the other Christian Groups?

In effect are Jews following a dead religion?

it appears that Christianity is the only one that has God reaching back to save us through CHRIST. Other religions teach man's attempts to reach back to God (meditation, good works, etc.) Do you think that man's attempts will ever be enough to reconcile ourselves with an INFINITE God>?

How can we end this conflict? why can we just respect and love one another? we are worshipping the same God in our own different ways. why does it need to end this way?
Lets face it, the conflict reaches to a level that political issues come in, we are starting to stereotype ach other to hate one another and disagree on all these things. Why cant we just Love and respect one another, like what the Holy Teachings / Scriptures say?
