Religion & Spirituality - 7 June 2006

For most of my life, I have never had a faith to believe in. That is until recently. I met some amazing people and they showed me to God. I am 15 years old, soon to be 16. I have made the decision in my heart that I want to be babtized. Now I was babtized as a baby, but I personally think that its not a real babtisim until I personally accept Jesus as my savior.
My father is very anti-religious, and constantly believes I am trying to convert him. My mother always sides with my father.
How do I break it to my family that I want to be babtized? And I would like them to be there to witness it?

When I browsing and reading questions in Spiritual place, I simply found that for every 5 to 10 question, I will found one question that sounds like that. I don't really get it, because in my hometown, Christian is really get along well with other people, and no one hates them, even the non Christian and the atheist! So I don't understand why do most people (at least most people in this Yahoo! Answers), hates Christians, even though they are not doing anything bad like stealing your car, telling something bad about you, or smack you in the face. All they do is just telling how God is loving you, and they want to share God's love to you. That's all! Did they stole your money or hack your account after that? Of course not.

In fact, most of them I see they still tried to use the most gentle language they can use to answers such furious question. And I yet still questioning why furious question like this keeps coming, even though the Christians don't do anything.

I've been on Y.A for some time.And I've noticed something rather unsettling lately.What is with the holier than thou Pagans and Wiccans? Believe it or not, there are quite a few of us who actually know what is what ,have been practicing for years,(decades even!)and like teasing people about their misconceptions.So some of us ask a cheeky question now and then.Where's your sense of humor?What is the point of being a witch if you can't have fun with it sometimes? Taking thing way too serious is bad for your health! Lighten up!

I see people answer questions quite often in this way: "religion won't save you, Jesus will" or "don't follow religion, follow Jesus". What?!

Isn't Jesus, as the supposed son of God, as the man who is supposedly saving a whole religion of people from hell, an intrinsic part of the Christian religion? And isn't religion an intrinsic part of Jesus? Isn't he the point of the whole Christian religion? In my mind, any sort of Jesus (or any God) worship, or any kind of putting your faith in a higher power, is religious in nature, by definition.

So why do people seperate the two?

If you have done Bible Codes. You know that there will only be 1 more Pope, after this one. The next pope is going to deflect the catholic Faith.
He is going to denounce it and deflect it. If you have done the number crunch, you know that 2012 looks favorable.
I would say that this Pope will not live past 2011, IF that long.

Bible Codes are so so important. There has been over 10257 found so far. When you do the Codes, do the numbers, you have a year. :)

It could be 2007...or...2011 you can't know yet, because knowone knows if Jesus was born on a leap year.

Keep 1 thing in mind. ALL prophecy does NOT have to be fulfilled before Christ Returns. It can be fulfilled during the 7 years.

Hi, im a christian guy, no this is not a notice for a girlfriend. I have a girlfriend (christian aswell) that i love very much. i can't imagine my world without her. She feels that same way and we know that we want to get married. marriage has come up lately and offcourse that stirs personal issues that must be repaired before getting married to one another. lately she has told me that she fels very numb as it easier to deal with this stuff. THe thing is she isn't dealing with it, jsut burrying it. Once a made a comment that 'sex in marriage can be romantic'. that really stumped her. she said she had never thoguht about sex taht way, she said that she knows she should but just never has. she has not been sexually abused or anyhtin. Now my question is why do women have complexes and issues about sex? Why do women go numb so OFTEN? no comments on breaking up plz, i dont need that rubbish, we will work through this jsut want advice.

why do they think they have to push others to the views they have? i realize not all do this, but it still bugs me when some do. i used to be christian, and it was a common belief that when the time comes, all will become aware of god and believe in him when it is their time.

any comments?
