Mormons believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are three separate individuals who are united in purpose.
Mormons believe that God was once a human just like us. Therefore by extrapolation, it can be reasonably deduced that Mormons believe that our God had his own God before that etc.
Mormons believe that if we do everything right in this life, we will eventually become gods of our own universe.
So yeah, you're totally right.
edit: Jeff Lindsey is a moron. His arguments are not logically sound.

Honestly there is one God and this God is your true parent and even your parents parent. We are all God's children including Jesus. Our soul which is a emotional conscious energy which is who we all are and our bodies are only vehicles we use in gaining experience from this world.
Sadly man's through the desire of power/control used religions to segregate ourselves form the truth. Please remember that faith is not a religion, you cant read faith only feel it and trust! Goodluck!

I can't say that I am definitely sure, but I have never heard of Mormons as polytheistic. I only know basic information regarding their religion.

Mormons are technically henotheistic, meaning they believe in one god, but do not deny the existence of others. It would also be relatively acceptable (though not correct) to call the monotheists, as the deity of their religion is more-or-less one god. Trinitarians (not necessarily the denomination, but as typical Christians believe) would be monotheists, though their godhead is one god with three distinct identities. Mormon henotheism conflicts with polytheism in that Mormons worship one god, though they may one day become gods themselves, and their God (Heavenly Father), is descended from a line of gods himself.
Mormons believe that they are the literal offspring of God; that he and one his goddess polygamous wives in heaven physically created humans spiritual bodies. When they reach spiritual maturity, they are sent to a physical body on Earth according to their spiritual merit. Jesus is the firstborn spirit child of God, and Satan, one of Jesus’ brothers.
Elohim, or Heavenly Father (God the Father), became God by following the laws and ordinances of his father god when he was once a human man. He was exalted to godhood, and retains an actual flesh and blood human body. Assuming a Mormon follows the proper laws and performs the necessary ordinances, he too can be a god. Because individual gods populate their planets with humans, they must have polygamous wives to keep up the demand of spirit babies. Because there are so many spirit babies in heaven (according to LDS doctrine), it is important to have lots of kids so the can have bodies and prove themselves worthy to Heavenly Father so they can one day become gods too.
A famous couplet in Mormonism is "As god once was, man is. As God is, man may become." It is important to note that only males become gods; women are merely wives or servants if their husband does not reach exaltation.
As with the Christian concept of God, the Mormon concept of God is structured in three personages. Elohim, or Heavenly Father (God the Father), is responsible for creating mankind and this is his world. Jesus, is the firstborn offspring of Elohim and is his own god (having become so through exaltation). The Holy Ghost can be regarded as more of force than a distinct personage. However, to call Mormonism's godhead a trinity would be incorrect, it is more of a council of gods.
Mormons are not polytheistic, as they only worship Heavenly Father, the god who created them. Since Jesus is a god (as compared to being God), he is not worshiped in the same manner. Whichever god created Heavenly Father is also not worshipped. Where henotheism comes in to play is that Mormons do believe that they may become gods themselves, there are other gods in existence, and that they are descended from a line of gods ad infinitum. They do not worship other gods, nor do they pay any kind of tribute to them. Calling Mormons polytheists would be incorrect in the same manner as it would to refer to Catholics as polytheists for having a Triune God.
