No, what that passage describes is known as the sin of omission. That's one type of sin. Another type of sin is the sin of commission.

1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. 12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

A lot of sins are a laugh on account that, good, they may be able to be a laugh. As a ways as why they're a sin... maybe it's penalties of detailed forms of a laugh that lead them to a sin. I do not feel it's the a laugh facets in themselves which are incorrect. It's that the majority of them, should you do them, deliver penalties you comfortably do not feel approximately on the time of committing them. That, or they deliver penalties we might decide upon to feel would possibly not contact us if we someway use typical feel at the same time we sin (similar to anyone who says they may be able to drink with out it being dangerous so long as they do not get inebriated). Maybe ultimately they're sins on account that the dangerous comfortably outweighs something well (or nevertheless a lot a laugh) you get from them... and might be, on account that we're most effective human, we comfortably have a tough time accepting that. We love to feel that if we use our typical feel above the whole thing else, we cannot be touched by way of the dangerous penalties. Besides, so much sins ought to have whatever well approximately them if they are to be dedicated. If there have been certainly no advantages to sinning none folks could sin, and there could be no use for sins to be mentioned to us. Even the worst of sins may also be justified by way of the brain of the man or woman who commits them. For a few the justification is that they're a laugh. For others, there are more often than not different motives they arise with to justify why they do them.

It is a pretty deep question.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Act 17:30)

For those who have been ignorant of something, it is OK up until the time that they learn the truth. But the catch is that we should diligently study so that we won't be ignorant.

As far as James 4:17, when we learn the truth, then we are responsible for doing what God has told us to do.

A good example is the parable of the good Samaritan. The priest and the Levite saw the injured man but they refused to help him. For them this was sin because they had been commanded to "Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I [am] the LORD. " (Lev 19:18) The priest and the Levite were members of the clergy and knew what the scriptures taught. In this case, they did not do what had been commanded. But the Samaritan was a stranger in the land and he did the right thing.

There is another example in Mat 25:31-46

I do agree with this. Yes, but look in the Bible at the white throne judgment. Everyone will eventually be judged on their works. Unfortunately, ignorance is not bliss. This can be applied in many ways. For instance, if you did not realize you were on a one-way street going the wrong way and a officer pulls you over, ignorance will not get you out of a citation, it just may lower the sentence. That is the basis of this scripture. I also believe that this is talking about works more then salvation, after all, it was written to the church and not to the world.

Yes, I do know exactly what is sin.

And yes, I agree with that statement.

But for 'thoughts' that haven't heard the truth and dont know better, would still be sin. In a court of law, ignorance of the law is not accepted as an excuse. So if its not accepted in a human's court of law, what makes people think they will get away with it in God's court of Law?

Sorry, every person on the planet is exposed to the understanding of what is right and what is wrong. So claiming they haven't heard or don't know better won't work, its still sin.

Sin is transgressing God's law.If you fail to believe in God through Jesus Christ, you have sinned.Only christians commit sin. Those who are not christians always commit sin because God said in the Bible that He is angry with the sinner(unbeliever) everyday unless he repents and turns to God for salvation.(John chap.3:16-21) .Sinners will go hell with the Devil but if you repent God will forgive you and you can make heaven. So no matter your state and how far away you have gone from God ,there is still a way out for anybody, just like the prodigal son.

Sin is violating God's law I John 3:4. If you know what God's law is then you know if you've violated it. But Matthew 5:27 explains that if you allow yourself to "continue" to have an evil thought then that is sin. We are supposed to control our thoughts. II Cor. 10:15.

A sin is something you do that your god doesn't agree with or that is not right for you to do. Like the Ten Commandments. Thou shall not steal, Thou shall not covent thy neighbors wife, Thou shall not kill, Thou shall not disobey your parents. You should break out a good news bible cause anything else is hard to read.

Sin is knowledge. Not basic knowledge, but the realization that you are doing something wrong. Many of Pauls writings on sin, he is explaining sin consciousness.

It is not that we actually sin, but that we feel guilt because we think we sin. ( the law was fulfilled and so really there no longer is sin)

To HIM it is sin. The person, not God. God does not recognize sin. He sees only the perfection of Jesus.

Those who know that they cannot sin - they are free! Feels good. I am one with God. I am righteous not of my own works.
