Many people today believe that the Ten Commandments are in and of themselves a proper moral code, but this position is very dubious. Although it does contain some basic moral prescriptions that one can find in other religions, it doesn’t even begin to address some of the most important moral problems that face people today. In addition, the Ten Commandments can and have been read as supporting positions people regard as immoral, like the ownership of slaves and the second-class status of women.

Those who claim that the Bible improved the lot of women in history are woefully ignorant.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the trueth.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving;

Do you see this happening right now?

Should nonbelievers, skeptics, and atheists simply sit down and shut up lest the poor, sensitive Christians feel offended that anyone would dare challenge or criticize their beliefs? There has been an increasing number of people, including some prominent liberal pundits, who have basically been calling for that to happen. They want more Christians to vote for Democratic candidates and think that the presence of vocal atheists is too off-putting.

Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you.

And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all mean have not faith.

I have a friend who likes to send me right-wing conservative Christian chain letters (I don't know why).
This verse was at the bottom of one of these letters and I'm curious about whether or not it's real.
Anyone with a Koran, or knowledge of Islam, feel free to answer. Thank you.

"This is something to think about! Since America is
typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace."

Children under age ten may have a very narrow view of life and the world the ylive in in order to understand some of the basic Biblical teachings. In order not to give them the shock later on in life, is it best to just teach them the moral aspects and to leave the religious aspects? or to start early as christians.
For mature Christians please.
