We moved to the countryside from the city to a house that was built in 1880,,I fell asleep in the living room recliner with one of my dogs by my side,,I was awaken by a loud crash in the corner of the living room next to my chair. It sounded like pots & pans falling.(I later learned that the living room was once the kitchen)It woke up my dog too at the same time I woke up,,it was the wee hours of the morning.I told my brother who also lives here (we are both in our forties),,well,,when I told him,,he said the same thing happened to him when he fell asleep in the living room.We are always hearing things fall when we are awake & home alone. When we go upstairs to see what fell,,nothing is out of place. And when Im in the bathroom ,,Ill hear a crash,,the other day it sounded like a big box of stuff fell from about 3 feet.Still,,nothing out of place.Just yesterday,,I heard a loud noise in the attic that is above the kitchen where I was sitting. We are remodeling so the kitchen ceiling is out & it sounded like something was thrown @ the attic wall. Now ,,Im not like the dummies in the horror movies that goes to investigate when Im home alone. My dogs hear it too.Another time,,I told my brother,,why is my bedroom door open,,I closed it (& it closes tight,,is a new door) twice after closing it the first time,,I found it opened again. Then,,omg,,almost forgot this,,when I first moved here 2years ago,,I was in my room about 3am reading before falling asleep,,I heard a door squeak @ the bottom of the stairs (there isnt a door there anymore),,then a couple minutes later,,heard footsteps,,a couple more minutes,,I heard a knock,,then I heard the steps again,,then the squeak.I got up thinking it was my brother & thinking he got up to use the bathroom & wondered why he knocked so I went to see what he wanted & he was sound asleep. And,,no bs,,my bed shakes. My brother said that its the wind (windows closed). But then,,when we had a windstorm with over 70 mile per hour winds,,it did not shake. And one night I felt it move at the end of the bed like someone sat down.I beleive in ghost,,I have other stories of things that happened in an apt. I once lived in years ago,,the water would turn on full force by itself,,the toilet would be filling up when I just got home like it had just been flushed,,my blow dryer would turn on full force by itself. In that same apt.,,I felt hands around my neck once when I was asleep,,another night I heard scratching on the bedroom wall,,the next day I noticed scratches on the mirror of an old vanity that I bought second hand.I later learned that that house had been built on an old Seneca Indian Cemetary.Iv even seen a ghost before of my dog that had run away. She was sitting in the kitchen chair where she used to sit.She slowly raised her head like she had been sleeping.I could see her red color but could also see thru her. When I looked @ my brother to tell him,,I looked back & she was gone. Our friend Larry once told us that he saw a litle girl spinning in a blue party dress in a house that he was renovating.

My sister and I watch a copper pot fly off the wall toward my mother doing dishes. It wasn't that far but it came off the nail and went about 2 feet outward in the air. This happend while my sister and I were talking about how the heater makes noise at night, like someone is running there fingers on the grating. My sister and I knew something was definitely strange.
A week later my mother and I were watching TV,. There was a window behind us that reflected into the TV kinda like a glare.... we could see someone walking past the window. We thought it was grandpa.... no one was there when I opened the door.

Yes sometime ago when we 1st moved in here strange noises like someone coming up the staircase and going into the washroom, the water flowing form the faucet, the toilet flushing. One time I locked my front door and it was wide open. Then once I saw a muddy footprint of just one foot on the drive way, all the way up to my garage.

At night sometimes I can hear little noises, thumps and stuff. I get this creepy feeling like something is watching me, even hunting me. You know how you lay in bed awake, trying to breath silently so you can hear better? Then the noise begins to sound closer. I think it is in the room creeping around the foot end of the bed. I want to get up to see what it is, but can't... so I just lay there and try to be silent while watching out of the corner of my eye. Then suddenly I see movement, a flash of teeth and claws! OWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! The #&*@$ kitten pounced on my toes that I did not notice were sticking out from under the sheets!

On several occasions, we hear noises come from the inside of a wall…
It sounds as if something in cascading in-between. As if dirt or rocks, or brick is falling in-between the wall. It used to scare my younger siblings. Because no one was by the wall, no one was outside, and yet the noise would come… It starts at the 2nd floor and tumbles down to the first. It’s not really loud, but you could hear it clearly with the TV on. And it sounds deafening when the TV is off, especially when it’s night with the lights off downstairs. My younger siblings to this day still refuse to go downstairs by themselves.
To this day it still does this.
We don’t know why it does this, and I have grown used to it.

Well, we just moved into this house last year, and a few months later we got a cat. So one night, I was lying there trying to go to sleep when I heard what sounded like a young child crying "Mommy." So many people have told us this house is haunted, and two people have actually died in this house (neither of them a child).
But anyhoo...there I am, lying there in the dark and I hear "mommy." My oldest child was awake, too, and she got totally terrified. She heard it as well. Come to find out, the stupid cat can say "mommy."

Hey, mountaingirl, that's a great story! I think I would have freaked out, too. Sometimes the neighborhood cats fight in the alley below my window and it sounds like babies screaming and scares me from a sound sleep!
Alas, I have never experienced a haunting so I have no tales to tell.

2 mos. after my family moved into our new home; it was just a few mins to midnite. I stayed up late to read a book, when I noticed my young daughter's rocking chair began rocking steadily at a fast pace. The windows were open and there was a slight breeze but it was not enough to make the chair rock. It continually rocked steadily and then after 2 mins, it just suddenly stopped. Thereafter, I felt a sense of calmness and peace but afraid to move from the sofa.

Worst case I can give was there was some stuffed squirels he had on the wall... and they moved to look at the people in the room. O.O
Said squirels are now locked in the closet.
