unforunatly many people who claim to be "christrians" really dont have the love of God in their heart, and it puts a bad wrap on the rest of the christians. so thats why so many people dislike them.

Dear Mighty Martin,
You have the facts incorrect! Christians are not hated! Quite on the contrary, Christians are the most peaceful, loving people! All Christians live by "The Word of the Lord". Which is to treat everyone in loving ways, even if they are mean to you!
NOW IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE MOST HATED RELIGION; IT IS THE MUSLIMS! Just look at all the horror they have committed throughout the world! Starting with one of the biggest crime against humanity, which was 9/11!
On September 11, 2001 the Muslims from the Middle East high-jacked and crashed airplanes full of innocent people! These crashes consequently and horribly caused the fall of the
Twin Towers World Trade Center in New York City! Again killing thousands of innocent people!
Reality is; the terror continues each and every day! Muslims continue to terrorize many countries, not only the USA. Including their very own people in suicide bombings, beheadings, executions, belittling of woman, killings of their own people if you don't dress as they'd like you to, etc, etc, etc...
Muslims spread hatred! Muslims are characterized as doing without shame. Muslims have an attack attitude. They are shameless, offensive, insistent, rude, disrespectful, presumptuous, brazen, unabashed, brassy, blatant, brash, contumelious, impudent, insolent, malapert, pert, pushy, and snippy.
Muslims are self-centered and lack sensitivity and skill in dealing with others. Muslims seriously need to realize the harm they cause. Muslims need a complete overhaul of their religion and their beliefs. And most of all, Muslims need a very good psychiatrist to correct their damaging thinking minds.
The facts are hereby stated and if you'll like all facts may be verified.

I think people just use this forum as a place to get out their aggressions behind an anonymous handle mask. It's not just Christians that get attacked. Try reading some of the Wiccan and Muslim based questions.
I feel that all spiritual beliefs and practices should be tolerated as long as they don't intrude on the rights of others. After all, diversity is what makes Earth an interesting place to live.

People are defensive against religious people because often times the arguments of religious people contain no logic or facts the way we as societies have defined logic and facts. They're afraid of the unknown, put off by the bad reputation religion has gained in today's liberal society, and, most of all, scared of what they don't understand and can't hope to understand. I, personally, am inclined more to logic and reason than to religion, because I prefer to think analytically in all aspects of life. I can't understand how a religious person thinks and works, so I prefer not to deal with religious fanatics. Nonreligious people lash out because they don't know what's behind those kind words, and they're sure it's not any kind of familiar logic.
Hope that makes sense!
cyanne2ak - Do you realize you just wrote an extremely prejudiced comment that will offend the Christian religion as a whole and its people? You are categorizing Christian people, and no one appreciates that. What if someone said something like that about your race or religion? Wouldn't you be angry? Your comment reminded me of something Hitler would say about Jews in his publication Mein Kampf. Please delete the comment if you can; if not, just don't say things like that any more. You can offend and hurt people, and besides that, you can get people pretty mad at you.

I don't hate Christians, but I think they're kinda silly for believing in something which is no more real than Santa Claus. Imagine if someone went around trying to share Santa's love and proclaim how much Santa loves you and wants you to accept him into your heart. You might smile indulgently and you'd be nice to that person, but wouldn't you think him/her rather childish for believing in the existence of a being that nobody has ever seen, yet is said to perform miracles? Well, that's how it is with me. I do not believe in your Santa-like being, so sharing his love with me will do no good. It is a waste of your time and is likely to make me roll my eyes and think, "Oh, no, not again." The non-Christians in your neighborhood are nice to you because they like YOU, not your religion. God is invisible; you are not. God's love cannot be experienced; yours can. God is not real; you are.
Also, you must consider that on the Internet, a lot of people feel free to be really rude and even downright nasty, knowing they can't be punished for it. They would never say to your face what they say to you on a message board--too much danger of getting socked in the jaw! (There is a "Report this message" button you can click on if someone is being really rude. I've never used it so I don't know how much good it does.)
And still another thing: What Christians often perceive to be "hate" is nothing more than someone challenging them on their beliefs. Much of what theists believe simply cannot be supported with verifiable, testable, observable evidence, so they become defensive, accusing the questioner of being mean or rude when really, we're just trying to get some kind of proof for the extraordinary claims being made.

Christian people are a mix of people. Of course they are very nice and caring. It is not the people that aggravate some, it is the Christian religion itself that has become distasteful.
Unfortunately even though they want to share God's love, most also believe that if you don't believe, if you don't follow the law, if you don't tithe and go to church - and on and on - the possibility of hellfire awaits you. They teach seperation.
That is not what Jesus was about. We are all one with God and all equal, and so our spirits are naturally insulted at this fear tactic. But obviously some people think it is normal and truthful and OK.

Christianity and Islam R the only 2 faiths that tell their followers to convert other people to their faith.Nobody likes this kind of imposition of a dogma. To spread their faith(christians call it word of god) they even conquered and killed. So there is also a trust issue. Moreover they believe that theirs is the only way to salvation.Either U R with them or U R against them.I can go on & on but I M not good with with key board. So I rest here.

I think many people get offended at the way Christians feel like they can offer advice that includes God and it should apply to everyone. Not everyone is Christian and "just trust in the lord" isn't the right answer for everyone.
Maybe religion is best kept in churches

Many Christians hate each other. Put a few Christians of various denominations in a sealed room and watch how bibles suddenly start flying around.

I don't hate Christians, but I think religion carries a lot of bad "Karma". I do get defensive, 'specially when I hear/read "read the bible" or see bible passages being quoted. For one thing I read the bible several times and no, I didn't memorize it by verse, I read it as a whole. And that is were our disagreement come up, I don't believe in the bible, and some of you trying to tell me I will go to hell for admitting that makes me mad. Who are they to judge? To me it's like somebody trying to convince me the 'Davinci Code" is 100% fact.

Book of Matthew
5:11: Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
5:12: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
5:13: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
5:14: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
5:15: Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
