why do they think they have to push others to the views they have? i realize not all do this, but it still bugs me when some do. i used to be christian, and it was a common belief that when the time comes, all will become aware of god and believe in him when it is their time.

any comments?

The arrogance that their religion is the only right and correct one has caused more wars than anything else.

It is the best religion? Says who? Does it have the GodsHousekeeping Seal of Approval?

They think because they believe in their god that they are better than everybody else. But their Big Book tells them, all have fallen short, none are rightious. It doesn't say, none Except those who believe in me.

Here's the link to my site, it just been updated, now I definitely have music, and me singing "That's Just the Way That I Am," an original, there and pics too. Don't just stop at the front page scroll down and check it all out! Keep checking back it just been updated... I made a new page, "Me and Evilbay (A work in progress)." "How to Know If you're a New Yorker," by me and "Willys Jokes." A little humor on the serious side! Sign the guestbook too y'all!

Being a Christian is one big FARCE..there ethics and morals are all clouded by this book they worship called the Bible. I was born/raised in a Baptist family. I learned how to weed out fiction from reality. And the reality is...the bible was put together by a bunch of men that wanted to be famous ..nothing more nothing less...Get a grip and the world will be a better place. Why not worry about the planet where you live instead of some after life that you don't know exist!
Blessed Be!

That's how other people's think:

If the Christian DO spread the gospel, they resist it and scream "why do you bothers our life?"

But if the Christian DON'T spread the gospel, in the hell they scream "why you all not aware me about this sooner?"

So, you think our position is comfort enough? We do this because of you. Refer to Jimbob's answer above. Oh, and as far as I know, Christian never push anyone to have their mind view, at least they never told to do so. But they are told to spread God's love throughout the world. That's what a true Christian NATURALLY do.

As a Christian, I believe that it is my responsibility to inform people about Jesus and my beliefs. However, I will not push it on anyone, as it is not my responsibility to prove others wrong, but rather to state my opinion. Others have the choice to take it or leave it. It is important to reach out in love, and those who condemn and push others are doing just the opposite. It drives me crazy when I hear people telling others that they are going to hell for this and this. Human beings (including myself) do not enjoy pointing fingers! I think people who judge others are doing so because they are afraid to deal with the plank in their own eyes, as Jesus so cleverly put it. People put the blame on others when they do not wish to deal with the issues in their own lives. I am willing to admit that I do wrong things, and I do not believe it right to point out such things in other people. This is quite hypocriitical. I believe that it is God's job to judge hearts, and His only. Hope this helps, God bless!

In Christians' defense:

If you had fantastic information - say, the cure for cancer - you would probably want to spread that information far and wide so that as many people as possible can benefit from this fantastic information that you possess. So it is with Christians, who believe they possess the most vital and ultimately important information ever. They want to spread it to as many people as they can so that all can benefit from this vital good news.

Of course, not everybody that they encounter is going to be as excited to hear this news as they are to share it - hence the reaction of some who, like you, feel that Christians are pushy. I also think that some people on the fringes of orthodox Christianity have this strange notion about making sure that EVERYBODY hears the gospel message so that God won't be disappointed with them for not having at least attempted to evangelize the entire planet - in short, there are some Christians who evangelize for their own benefit, not for the benefit of the people to whom they are speaking. But for the most part, I think you can chalk it up to zeal and excitement about what many Christians feel is information that's worth getting excited about.

I dont think they have to push others and I think just because they state their beliefs it is pushing. those that have not chosen or dont know their direction may feel pushed but those secure in their belief structure shouldnt feel challenged by others statements of belief.

I agree with you though that when belief is used a a weapon it is wrong. Those that use religion to spout hatred or judgment are wrong.

Good Luck and God Bless!!

I have been trying to figure this out myself. I am so tired of the Christian church and its people trying to convert me. I am truly happy and fulfilled with my faith and will never change for anyone. I realize this is not really an answer, but I just thought I would give my feelings on the subject since you asked for comments. But, I'm on your side all the way.....

Some who are new to Christianity have a tendency to be pushy and self-righteous. Others grow morbid and see sin in everything and everyone but themselves. Christianity is not your relationship with man it's your relationship with the One who gave you power to become a Christian. Christians are people too and you deal with people every day. Look to the Lord for what He wants you to do, and in "His" time.

The Holy Ghost does convict us of our sins. This is how we are called to God.Its also true that the spirit of God won`t strive with man always. We are called and we have a joice to except or not.You might go along time with out feeling that coviction again, but usuallysomewhere along our way we`ll feel that pull towards God.But if we won`t except him then after a time we`ll not be called again.
