besides the day off it is a holiday everyone can celebrate. it is about a man who wanted equality and stood up for it in a peaceful way instead of taking a violent turn, with all race aside.

I have to do an essay for school about an ethical dilemma and then apply the philosophies of Aristotle to it. Do you think that tanning is a good dilemma? Teens tan early and that cause them to have problems later in life with skin cancer and it is a dilemma that they have to over come. To tan or not to tan. If you don't think that this is a good one please tell me and give me some exapmles if you have any.

I enjoy a good book next to a fire on a cold night with some mellow music. Also, long walks in the woods in the fall. The ocean and sanddunes....What do you enjoy?

how many people out there agree that we should rename MLK day to Civil Rights Day or something like it, in honor of all of our American heroes who fought for civil rights, regardless of their race, gender, etc?

I have so many things I want to be when I grow up. I love acting, movie-making, dancing, fashion-designing, writing, snowboarding, and a lot more. I have no idea how I'll live without any of those things being my main focus.

Everyone wants to live for self. But believe me I have got a typical mind. I rarely think of my leisures. I always think of the poor. But I am in to such field where I have limitations in earning. I want to give 70% of my earnings to needy people. I need to have such projects where I can earn more to serve more. I can do anything to any extent. Please give suggestions

I live were this isn't much extreme weather but we are having blizzard comming in today. Most people here don't know how to drive in this weather (sleet) and there are many accidents on the freeways adding to the traffic problems we have here everyday. I work at a store that sells nothing that couldn't wait till tomorrow or the next day, no one is going to die from not getting a tv or computer today. I think that non essential businesses should close for the occasional bad weather day (just like schools do) to insure the safety of their workers, many of them which have to drive a great distance. I have to take the bus to work today. It is raininy and windy and very cold for us here and I have to walk 2 blocks to the unsheltered busstop and wait for a bus and then walk a block to the store. I will arive wet and cold and probably end up getting sick again. Anything that I would do today could be done tomorrow or the next day, no one will die. Only essential jobs should be done

that there was an enormous asteroid on a direct collision course with earth and that it was going to hit us in 1 year, killing 99% of all life and wiping out the Human race (and there was absolutely nothing we could do about it so forget about sending a space shuttle to 'land' on it and blow it up)
1. Do you think we would be told?
2. What would the world be like for the remaining year if we were told?

I have the pleasure of knowing many strong women, who are very succesful.
But first and foremost they jugde themselves and are jugded by others by their looks. How much weight they have gained, how their clothes are fitting, if their hair is perfect.
The old joke about the difference between a man and a woman is that a woman could never walk down the street with hairy legs on show, with a beer gut, and a bald head and still feel sexy is quite poigniant. Not matter how much success you have in your life as a woman if you are not able to also look like a superstar people see you as a failure.
Why is this?

How do you weigh personal sacrifices against the benefit to society? Where do you draw the line? When do you put your own needs above that of others? There is a personal benefit in the knowing of what you have done. It is gratifying, but it is not practical. How do you make such a decision? For some these are simple questions, for me they are not.
