I've been using answers for a while now, lots of nice people have spent a considerable amount of time helping me as have I them. Is anyone else saddened that some people are nasty just for the sake of being nasty and what does that say about our society today?

Question: Do you consider yourself to be British or English?

Question Details: . Welsh first, and then British. Until there is total devolution, and the Union is split, and each nation issues its own passports, then we are all British. On UK "equal opportunities monitoring" forms there IS the option to specify. I saw one recently where the ethnic choices covered two pages. Internationally, though, we are British. .

It may solve the problems that are found in inner citys.

Can you imagine a hoody telling a soldier built like a brick sh1t house to f off?

It may teach diciplin to these people, setting them up for a better life also.

People tend to ask questions with the intent to seek console and alliance; but not with the intent to actually learn from the answers. They simply pick the answer they like most, but not the one that makes more sense- kinda like a girl that is attracted to the guy that treats her the worst, and ignore the gentleman that tries to be good to her. Its a human flaw that I've seen triumph on this site.

So we accepr that in order to to save a life of her child it is moral to require a woman to undergo pregnancy, birth, nursing (every 2 hours for 3 months), costs of bringing up a child or pain and depression of giving the child up.

Then, shouldn't it be moral to require that healthy people to donate blood? I mean what is blood donation compared to pain of childbirth?

Or how about bone marrow transplants, critical for treatment of leukemia? It is madantory that they come from ther nearest relative. Bone marrow grows back over time, so there is no long term effect. Surely a person who refuses to donate is a criminal!

Or how about we require suitable young people to donate a kidney whenever one is needed to save a life? Surgery is not that invasive, and single kidney can handle the load quite well. Sure they can't drink too much, but how wonderful it is to know that you saved a life!

I just answered a question where someone wanted to know more about Hitler, probably for a report, who knows? Then I started putting links in the source block to point them into reading up on the guy themselves and I was reading about a particular subject that I found heartbreaking was all the medical experiments they did on children and others.

Everything about that time period is horrible, but being a mother I can't imagine what life must've been like for them?

The question: When you hear things being talked about the Holocaust, how does it make you feel or do you turn away and try to ignore that it happened cause it's too depressing?

I'm not trying to start any fights with this. I'm actually looking for some understanding here.
When abortion is argued as a "woman's right to choose", what exactly does that mean from a woman's standpoint?
Is it a "women's rights" issue (on the broader legal and social concerns) or something more personal?

I would really love to know how women define "a woman's right to choose".

Thank you.
