Question: Do you consider yourself to be British or English?

Question Details: . Welsh first, and then British. Until there is total devolution, and the Union is split, and each nation issues its own passports, then we are all British. On UK "equal opportunities monitoring" forms there IS the option to specify. I saw one recently where the ethnic choices covered two pages. Internationally, though, we are British. .

1. Challenge it, using the link provided in the e-mail notification.

2. Post a copy of your challenge into the Forum - the second topic there is: Wrongful Violations & Suspensions. Within 24 hours you will get a response there, but you have to look for it, they will not inform you, and eventually their reply will be deleted..

It's splitting hairs, kinda, isn't it? Hahaa. I just answered you with a question! The RULES state that a question must BE in the form of a question and that an answer must make an honest attempt to ANSWER THE QUESTION THAT WAS ASKED. That seems straightforward but could be interpreted in SO many ways. Example: Q: My dog has this weird discharge from her 'privates' ... what could it be? A: Has the dog been spayed? That would be MY answer, at least it would be the FIRST part of my answer, because whether or not the dog had been spayed would make ALL the difference in how I would continue to answer the question! Sometimes you NEED to ask a question before you can give a good answer, right? (There, I just did it again). I have actually won appeals by demonstrating that my question-as-answer was necessary to giving a correct answer. I wouldn't expect to win an appeal this way too often, but once in awhile an actual human does review an appeal and decide, 'hmmmm, that makes TOTAL sense'!

I've never been reported, so I can only opinionate on what I've heard.... Is there an actual job title at Yahoo for the people who police this site? Or is it just a computer? I don't really trust computers....
Well, until we find out whether content is deleted automatically once reported, or whether it's investigated, we'll all have to live in fear of having our "content removed".
Oh dear!

Yahoo! have put in some filtering software to trap bots. Unfortunately, it keeps rejecting genuine answers. Have a look at the Forum. (There's a link top right of the page).

Unless YA can come up with a solution, we're all going to get bored and find some other way of wasting our time.

The reason of violation:Not a question or an answer.

look at the question you posted today...Question details(yours or his/hers?) and deleted answer seem to be the same.
Was this an error on your part?
Nowhere does it say or suggest you were 'dissing' the UK.

I agree it was rather harsh to delete your answer on a technicality but mine was similarly struck off for suggesting that veggies try to tell others what to eat and have a 'holier than thou' attitude...oops there goes another one.

No I cannot tell you why this is. Sometimes people report on random things and you may never know why.
Suffice to say, there are some people with way too much free time on their hands, usually they are in front of me at the store with like 39,000 coupons and pennies to pay with, sometimes they are pounding you for violations on Yahoo.
The best thing to do is move on, it's like beiing angry that there is gravity on Earth. No matter how much you resent it, it'll pull you down when you trip.

It is not a violation. Sometimes wrongly reported violations get through. It's happened to me a few times. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do about it. There are some losers on here who derive satisfaction from randomly reporting other members.

Thats weird. I mean, anyone can see that it IS a 'question or answer'. Well, did you get many complaints about the question? Prehaps thats what someone put down as a report?

it is unfair, click on the answers forum at the top of the page and there is a thread there to deal with unfair violation notices. i only found it yesterday, give it a try :-)

Don't see any problem with your answer myself. It was definitely an answer, so the violation reason doesn't stand up. And it's not offensive in any way either.
