I've been using answers for a while now, lots of nice people have spent a considerable amount of time helping me as have I them. Is anyone else saddened that some people are nasty just for the sake of being nasty and what does that say about our society today?

You have said a mouthful..... and it is the truth..... I had to step away from this site for a while.... because I got sick of all the nasty questions some people ask.... and I got sick of some of the perverted pictures that I've seen.....

I don't know...

I love this site, its fantastic... but, I just cant stomach alot of the stuff that's coming out of some of the people who take this site and make it something it wasn't meant to be......

I'm not disillusioned, there is always going to be a segment of the population that acts like pricks.

Mostly its probably teenagers being teenagers.

It's a phase most go through and then they realize bothering people isn't the right way to act...most, not all.

I really don't think it's societal except in the sense that we're utilizing the internet which is a relatively modern way to communicate, especially when it comes to seeking advice from strangers.

The moment I recognize that a response is purposely nasty or stupid, I skip the rest of it and move on, unless of course in the nastiness there is some inadvertent comedy.

Hmm, I don't know if I can agree. Oh yes, there are lots of people who say stupid or nasty things but I think Yahoo is far *too* monitored. I've been reported tons of times, for not very much. Certainly I've witnessed many other get away with a lot more.

NOT RELEVANT to your question, but I did sort of promise to respond to everybody who answered my question:
My mother is the most vile person I've ever met. I really don't know why she had children - neither does she.
Erm.... So, erm, I can't relate to your answer, but I'm sure there must be some mothers that like their children - - but is this self-less? Surely loving mothers must gain something from their children?

RELEVANT TO YOUR QUESTION: the words "scraping" and "barrel" pop into my head when I think about some of the people on here - but I pity people like that - I mean, I doubt that they have a very fulfilling life...

Too new right here, do not see such issues as this basically yet. i understand i will, as i have grown drained of many and bigger web pages earlier, and this one would not look truly sanctified, yet I nonetheless stumble on some gemstones right here each day. also, i do not comprehend human beings getting too disillusioned with information from hecklers and gadflies; if putting them immediately grows previous, basically ignore about them. the exhilaration of the web, no one is any better genuine than you let them be. Like phantasms, they don't exist without your permission. Your poem is recommendations-blowing, in most cases, to me, contained in the questioning it evokes in its readers. thanks. i desire it is not too late for you right here, because you're precise, the coolest voices are a great deal outnumbered with information from the wailing one-off poets of angst and known impassioned love who do not even care adequate about their own poems to go back and respond to human beings that make an attempt to remark. Edit: Rayven, I see. definite, a lot i do not understand or comprehend right here. unluckily. I *have* taken on a troll or 2, and that i imagine even made the record of those who get some interest from them. I agree such as your idea that it truly is basically too open a field for under one type of recreation to be performed, although. Conversations like this one save it exciting to me.

Some people are nasty because of the nature of this form of corresponding. The faceless media which is the internet allows people to be horrible becasue no one really knows them. If they were talking face to face to someone, I am sure they would be completely different.

I'm saddened at the amount of racist homophobic people on here and I'm also saddened at the religious bashing that goes on.

But there are lots and lots of decent people on here too. Ignore the tw@ts, you find them everywhere in life and if you let them spoil it for you here, you will let them spoil it for you wherever you go.

So just enjoy it and appreciate the good people on here.

I agree with you, some people come on here with real life situation, and try to get real answers and opinions, and then you get other people who are just so nasty and couldn't really care less that they are most probably hurting other people's feelings.

Some people on here need to grow up and start taking things and people more seriously on here!

I agree with you. Sometimes the questions are not worth opening, you can just tell by the first sentence. I think you can be light hearted, but sensible. I have noticed that a couple of the worst offenders seem to have disappeared, but maybe they will be back.
