I just answered a question where someone wanted to know more about Hitler, probably for a report, who knows? Then I started putting links in the source block to point them into reading up on the guy themselves and I was reading about a particular subject that I found heartbreaking was all the medical experiments they did on children and others.

Everything about that time period is horrible, but being a mother I can't imagine what life must've been like for them?

The question: When you hear things being talked about the Holocaust, how does it make you feel or do you turn away and try to ignore that it happened cause it's too depressing?

I get angry. Not that people shouldn't care... but what about the native american holocaust right here on our continent. The geniocidal policies still used to this day to assimilate a people that will never be assimilated. these policies are killing our first nations off and no body cares. For centuries children taken from their families, placed in residentiol schools(schools with a 40 - 60 % fatality rate) where they were subject to physical emotional and sexual abuse. Their sibling seperated from them once they were torn away from their parents. They were used for medical experimentation. Given unwanted and un-needed sterilizations just so they could be used for sex with no unwanted pregnancies. Their languages beaten out of them."KILL THE INDIAN SAVE THE MAN" was the term used by the american and canadian governments. Doesn't it make you think?

I have done some reading about the atrocities of the Holocaust. I do not do this anymore. I learned enough. It was a part of the process that lead me to Atheism.

When I think about it or hear about it I am brought very close to tears and I feel sick inside.

There is one movie about it I would recommend. It is bad but it is tolerable for the weak of heart . That is Shindlers List

I feel that people should learn more about the horrible things that have and continue to happen to innocent people in the world. How can one know in detail about these things and believe in a loving god?

I think about ALL the people that died in the Holocaust and not just the Jewish people!
Gays, liberals,Seventh Day Adventists, priests, Gypsies (Roma) and may others died as well. People tend to forget them and focus on the Jews too much.
