It's a pity when society causes anyone to be ashamed of their heritage.
As in religion, and other forms of cultural differences, there are many that cannot help but impose their own beliefs, feelings etcc on all matters as being the only ones that are correct. Therefore, they do not hesitate to voice their opinions and elicit the approval of others who have the same mindset to demean anyone who is different. It all boils down to outright ignorance, and arrogance..

The lack of knowledge. Feeding off of what others have to say about their heritage... rather than knowing how important their ancestors were, or what they possibly did to change the world today. I think everyone should be proud of who they are, and accept people for that.

What people are you talking about? I have a varied heritage and I'm proud of all of it. I know many, many people that are proud of their heritages... come to think of it, I'm not sure that I've meant anyone who isn't.
