What makes us see someone as beautiful? Did you ever wonder why we think the movie stars are beautiful, blue eyes are prettier than brown let's say, or a thin nose is prettier than a fat one? I've wondered where our eye for beauty, our standard for it comes from. I can't figure out for the life of me where. Any ideas??

You know, when you say you want to do something, and they are all "me too!" Or when you are feeling something, or did something. Most of the time, I don't feel they are being honest, and are just brown-nosing. Are they just trying to be liked, or want to feel like they can associate with you somehows?

Okay, people like Michael Richards are obviously racist. But people who just state the truth about a certain race don't have to be. Just because I say that many blacks speak in that ebonic accent or whatever you want to call it doesn't mean I'm a racist. Just because I say many Hispanics whether they be Mexican or not ride in cars packed together doesn't mean I'm racist. Just because I say many whites have a superior complex about their own race and don’t view minorities as equals doesn't mean I'm racist. I guess saying that most white people have light skin is racist too huh?

Sometimes the truth is simply that, whether people want to acknowledge it or not. Being defensive by throwing around the racist word doesn't make you right, it only shows your ignorance inability to accept the truth and deal with it properly. Until we acknowledge the truth, the source, and its actual meaning, only then will we be able to end racism.

There was a story in LA recently where 7 black girls saw some white girls walking down the street and went up to them harassing them and then started kicking and punching them. It was barely mentioned at all and I only found out about hte even while look for something else.

Then in NY recently a black guy got shot by cops recently and its on every media that this poor guy was engaged to be married and was shot FIFTY TIMES by the evil police. What wasn't mentioned in the headlines was that the car this guy was driving in attempted to run over two police officers twice.

I wasnt really much of a conspiracy person but this kind of stuff is ridiculous

Were African Americans from the same place in Africa? You can clearly distinguish an Ethiopian from a Nigerian but you can't do that with many Americans

I want to have visitors staying, but what makes the difference between a visitor and a dweller. For instance they get their mail sent here. If they become a dweller do they get ownership rights? This is confusing me. If anyone can advise Id be very grateful. thanks

I understand that the argument is to say that homosexuality is genetic. I do not think gay animal sex provides proof of this. A horny animal will try to have sex with anything around it whether or not said animal actually has an altered sexual identity. An animal does not have the wherewithal to control its impulses.

Either way, I cannot think of a situation where I would compare myself to a dog or a farm animal to drive my point home.

This is an interesting question. Why do you think that blacks who wante to be accepted seem OK with integrating and then recoil quickly as if burned with a hot iron? Is there any sense in this in your opinion? Do you think that blacks should totally integrate into mainstream America as is or would they (blacks) need an overhaul to be more "American". Some blacks have a take me as I am attitude while mainstream America seems to want to water down some charecteristics that blacks are socially comfortable with. What are your thoughts?

What is with the really poor English, grammar and spelling when posting questions and answers? Does this bother anyone else? How do you people communicate in the world? Do you not see it as stupidity and laziness that you cannot complete a coherent thought? Am I alone in thinking this?

The complete question is.. To gain total gender equality should women be forced to endure the same social and physical hardships as men to get the same social standing? I had this conversation with a friend of mine and I asked her and she said that YES women should have the same consideration as men but would still need to retain more options of whether or not to partake, when they decide to quit and it they want to continue with it and quit and later try. She explained to me about single mothers needing to work flexible hours and needing time off and just not being able to work as many hours.

My specific example was.. Does a woman working 25 hours a week flextime deserve the same oppourtunity as another woman who works 55 hours a week. She said yes and I disagreed.

My second example was would a woman who had been with the company 7 years working a regular full time schedule who had taken 3 hiatus' of 1 year each in the last seven years still be promotable. She said yes, I didn't
