What is with the really poor English, grammar and spelling when posting questions and answers? Does this bother anyone else? How do you people communicate in the world? Do you not see it as stupidity and laziness that you cannot complete a coherent thought? Am I alone in thinking this?

No, you are not alone. The poor grammar and spelling bothers many of us. I think that posters:
a) are too rushed to check for spelling and grammar (they want to post quickly so they can go on to the next question to get more points),
b) forget to check grammar and spelling once in a while (or all the time),
c) think it's cool or "kool" to use chat room and SMS terms as well as alternate spellings, (LOL!)
d) just don't know better.

I've often thought the same thing. I'm not sure why very few people on Yahoo Answers can complete a full sentence...maybe subjects and predicates aren't cool anymore? Perhaps people feel like articles and verbs just get in the way these days? I have no clue.

I have to agree. I'm not a stickler for grammer and no expert either however it's just good basic communication skills. Language is something that evolves but there is no reason to use mobile phone type when you have a perfectly good keyboard.

I kinda agree....but a lot of people use shortcuts on the internet because it's faster and easier. It's not about having poor grammer or anything, it's about keeping with your audience. Almost like legal writing or something.....you have to write for the audience who will be reading it.

On the face of it yes, it does seem terrible, but if you take a closer look these cyberspellers can be really interesting and quite innovative and funny too.

I call it the text syndrome. You can tell who are the mad text messengers by their horrible abbreviations, lack of punctuation and correct grammar. It drives me bananas so I just skip the questions I can't read easily. I just don't have the patience to try to figure out what they meant to say.

ummmmmmmmmm , no what it is is that you want to be an english teacher but you havent applied yourself for instant if i want to ask a question using alot of words these days ebonic's can play a big part towards the answer im searching for ebonic typing is in now forget laughing out loud its lol forget good luck its gl forget be right back its brb its something i think that can help us in the furture if we apply ourself like if someone tried to spell a word but did it in correctly maybe they are challenging your i q but in all honesty i say if you h8t (hate) something so bad like yahoo answers why even get on here? it says alot about your character thats like watching a t.v. show that you dont like remember NO ONE IS PERFECT NOT EVEN YOU & I

no it does no bovva me hunn, really, we are in the year 2006 not the yr. 1906, alot of peeps have been dissed about doin languge like this man init, and ur same question has bin assed but the oppisite way bout peeps dissin ova peeps ova the issue about people pissin the off in sayin bout the way they r wiring
