In my household, the main language is of course, American (no, not English, we live in America and our version of English is different than the English spoken in England, thank you) but my stepmother is German so my half siblings are bilingual. I took Spanish for 4 years and now learning German. In most high schools (like mine), the languages offered are Spanish, French, and Latin. I wish there were more like Italian, German, Chinese and Japanese. I know it takes money to do that and to hire new teachers, but I think it would greater the diversity and help our school systems by being more likeable. Offering languages as early as elementary level greatly helps kids learn more. A new language brings them to a new level of intelligence that no amount of math or science can do. It widens their perspective of the world and creates a more thoughtful process in life.

Hello, my name is Marissa and I am 22 years old. My ethnicity is Cantanese and Italian. I currently live in Staten Island, New York, but you can also find me in the Los Angeles or Miami area. I am very excited to meet new photographers, makeup artist and models to work with. I am interested in high fashion style, fashion, editorial, editorial style, swimwear, fitness, lingerie, casual, glamour,FHM/Maxim style, commercial print assignments. and maybe artistic nude. This is my job, so not only do I take this seriously but I am extremely passionate about my work. I am fun, creative, and need little to no direction, but am always willing to work with the photographers point of view. I strive to be very professional not only during a shoot but in all aspects of it, as I expect the same treatment from others.

Ok I'm going off to the Vuuv festival in Putlitz Germany on Friday and really need some Phrases. I did a bit of German when I was in High school so I know the basics like Hallo but could do with a brush up also I need to know how to ask things like "Can I have a Beer?!?" "Do you speak English" and anything else I might find useful. Please Please I'm Begging PLEASE DO NOT post anything rude or Dodgey that I can say as I'm the kind of Burk who after a few drinks or when I'm feeling cocky will say them and get nicked or something. So that's why if you could put the phrase and what is it's German Equivalent. Thanks ;-)

I am reading an old lyric composed by Bob Marley named Redemption song. This is a part of this lyric:

Old pirates yes they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit.

Why Did Marley write "Old pirates yes they rob I - Sold I to the merchant ships" instead "Old pirates yes they rob ME - Sold ME to the merchant ships"?

Actually I am a teacher of English languagel, based in Alex, Egypt, and I am an Arabic<>English translator for more then 12 years. However, I used to normal paper translation or even normal translation on computer...but nowadays I can see the increasing demand of certain translation software usage like SDLX and TRADOS. Therefore I am seeking your advice and help if you could direct me to a place in Egypt, or on line, that could give me training courses in these very software programs and others for subtitling and interpretation if it is applicable.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

It's a curse word phrase. I'm guessing "diab" is something devil related. And that "moodee" is actually spelled different. I'm just taking a stab at spelling it phonetically. Any ideas would be appreciated.
