I've seen it used both ways in many official government websites. However, language-wise, which would be the correct way to write this?

Looking at a 1920 Deuel county , ( South Dakota ) , for family information, I stumbled upon my Grandmothers nae b.d. and 2 other siblings names which I recognized ; except for their last name . Which list their name as Ducedic ; searching for others with this name Ducedic , or a name with similarities I found none except for the 3 family members with the Ducedic "last" name.

Why is it that so many people seem to confuse 'your' (belonging to you) with 'you're' (a contraction of 'you are')? It seems pretty simple but so many people on the internet confuse the two. Also, what's the problem with 'their' (belonging to them), 'they're' (a contraction of 'they are') and 'there' (referring to location)? We keep being told that exam results are getting better yet simple grammar seems to be going horribly wrong!

I'm struggling with things as simple as "How was your day?" because I don't understand what's supposed to be different. Yes, I know how to say "How is your day?" and "How was your day?", but I don't understand WHY they're different in the way they are.

Would someone please help me figure out how past tense works in French, or tell me where I can get help?
