i have some following sentences:
1/The decline of the Roman Empire has been attributed to everything from
the moral depravity of its leaders to increased amounts of lead in the water system
-> why use "to increased" but "to increase"?
2/Ordinarily, cement can be done stronger by spraying it with water before it completely hardens
-> can i replace "done" by "made"? when use "make" and when use "do"?
3/Saws come in variuos forms ranging from the two-handled crosscut saw to the single-handled hack saw
-> why use "ranging" but "ranged"?
4/Primary consideration must be given to humanitaran concerns
-> i think this sentence can use "must give" instead of "must be given".
5/Published, Mari Sandoz's "The Buffalo Hunter" detail the slaughter of miffaloes on the Great Plains of the United states
-> is the word "published" in head of the sentence abridged form of "it's published"?

I want to get a Kanji tattoo - Ive got what I think are the symbol for acceptance. Ive searched a few sites and Ive only been able to find the one translation - Id obvioulsy like to find more to make sure that it is correct.
Is there anyone that can write Kanji - or can find me a specific link for the word "acceptance"?

its either they get stunned by me asking them in mandarin
or they will just reply me back in english (which i dont mind at all)

Too bad i cant speak cantonese if im not mistaken speaking mandarin is sort of look down upon?

I'm becoming a teacher in a city with a high Latino population so it would be beneficial for me to learn some Spanish. I drive a half hour to work everyday so I was considering getting an audio cd. I don't have time to study Spanish in my spare time but in the car would be great. I was wondering if anyone knows if those audiotapes really work? The one I'm looking at is 50 dollars and I'm really hesistant to spend the money!

Hi,

I'm looking into getting my first (and probably only) tattoo. I'd like the words "Endure", or perhaps "One must endure" to be inscribed somewhere in it -- as in, to withstand and survive life, or in the latter, like Hemingway's motto: "First, one must endure to survive."

I'd like those words to be in Latin, though. I obviously don't know any Latin, but the tattoo is important to me and if I'm getting something permanent written on my skin I'd like it to be correct. I've been told the following would be best:

Obdura for "Endure"
Oportet obdurare for "One must endure"
Patiendum Est for "One must endure"

Which of the above are correct? Which would you advise? Any other options..?
