忍耐 【にんたい】 endurance; perseverance; patience Someone wants "acceptance" tattooed on them in kanji. This kanji is the one from ninja 忍. And, I think 耐 means to extinguish. (ops! same sound, taeru. ) I like this character as a tattoo, 忍 --shinobu. One of my dictionaries defines it as "endure." And 耐 is defined as 耐える ... (1) to bear; to stand; to endure; to put up with.

寛容 【かんよう】 ... forbearance; tolerance; generosity...

My paperback dictionary gives 承諾 【しょうだく】 ... consent; acquiescence; agreement ... for acceptance.

承諾書 【しょうだくしょ】 ... letter of acceptance ...
承諾 is shoudaku!
