With the growing number of hispanic speaking people in the us, it seems to me that one would have to learn to speal spanish to hold a better job in some years to come.

I'm thirteen years-old and I've been wanting to study the Korean language since I was twelve. I've self-studied and I believe I've learned some of the basics [Like reading and writing, the basic sentence structure, a few commonly used words, honorifics and such] but I don't know how to expand my vocabulary. I've tried looking for Korean language schools in my country but I couldn't find any. I've bought Korean music CDs and listen to them to develop my listening skills and a few English subbed Korean drama DVDs as well but I still have a hard time trying to learn new words.

Any ideas would be of great help! Thanks in advance!

I remember when it was the rage. My friends and I could even speak a few words of it. (They're long gone now, the friends and the words!) Linguists were predicting it to be the language of the future. What do you think...?

I have never learned it; I learned Spanish instead, because it's more practical. But with so many people interested in retaining Irish culture, why is almost nobody interested in saving Irish Gaelic?

When I think about things in my head, I think in English because that is my language, but do Japanese people for example think in Japanese?

If you can speak more than one language, then what is the language you think in when you think about things in your head? If you're French, but you can speak English, do you think in French, or in English in your head?

If I want to say “If I happen to (see/find) him, I will beat him up!”, can I use the “GET ACROSS” to express the same meaning?:
“If I happen to GET ACROSS him, I will beat him up!”

Or

If I want to say “You are so evil, I hope you (meet/have to deal with/happen to, or have to get involved with) many people just like you!”, can I use the “GET ACROSS” to express the same meaning?:
“You are so evil, I hope you COME ACROSS many people just like you!”

I am starting to learn German for heritage reasons but am considering switching to French for practical reasons. Both I think, are about the same difficulty.. what are your opinions? French might be a little more accessable it seams.. more resources, films, french-speaking Canada etc...
