Merhaba,

I am not Turk but I have many Turkish friends and have learned quiet a bit of the Turkish language. I need to improve though and learn some more and wanted to know if anyone can help me find some audio cds or mp3s that can help me or anyone interested in learning Turkish. I appreciate any feedback.

Also what if I decide to move to Istanbul can I find a job easily there? Are there any good websites for jobs that may hire non turks?

My teacher said something about not putting comma's when you make a list..I didn't quite hear what she said but she said when writing French you don't put a comma before the 'and'.. or something like that...so like for example : apple, orange, and grapes. they won't need to be a comma befre the and..or something...? anyway this is the sentence I'm writing but I'm not sure if this is the right way or not : Je suis sympathique, sociable, et contente.

Hello! My daughter is doing a class project on the Downy Woodpecker and needs to put in the phonetic spelling of the scientific name so her classmates will be able to pronounce it. Could anyone who knows, please help? Also, pronunciations that are described phonetically would be more helpful than the dictionary-type pronunciation guide that directly follows the word. Thanks so much!! I'm not really sure which section to put this in, so I'm going to choose Science and Language and perhaps homework. Sorry if it seems over-posted, we are desperate and she only has another half hour!
