Translation of complete sentence:
Je vais a l'entrainement militaire ce soir.(grave accent on the a)
Army cadets are "les cadets de l'armee".(acute accent on the second e to last)

I'd be inclined to translate that as "Je vais assister à une séance (or réunion) de l’unité de préparation militaire ce soir", as "unité de préparation militaire" is the phrase used for cadets corps, which is what you are referring to. The word for "army cadets" is "élèves militaires", but it applies strictly to the individuals concerned, not to the meetings.
