... which I consider expensive. However, BF and I almost always stay at the Hilton or other nice Hotel. His family also always stays at nice hotels. My mom has a very nice house and car, but is not doing so well nowdays financially. I do not tell BF about mom's hardships. Anyway, today I found out that he was just making the reservation for her, not paying for the room. I recommended Extended Stay (which is cheaper). Then he was like "but I've already made reservations. Why?" Is he dumb or a jerk? both? neither? what to do?

I want DETAILS! Why? Because this year I will be in a new town (I move next week) where I don't know a soul. I will most likely cook a nice little meal for myself (if I can find all of my cooking utensils!).

I would love to be going to a wonderful family and friend-filled delicious dinner. But, that's not going to happen.

So, I want to live vicariously through you...tell me about your "Martha Stewart" Thanksgiving plans. The details are; what type of food, people, activities planned, etc.

I remember when I was a kid, there were 7 of us plus my parents.
Since my mom and dad have both died, our family has become totally disfunctional. Its such a mess.
What can I do to perk myself up other than work?

I am having 4 adults and one child for Thanksgiving dinner. HOWEVER I want tons left over- and the men I would count as two people. What size turkey should I buy? I was thinking 18lbs. I can freeze the leftovers etc. Is this too much? Also how long does it take to thaw a turkey this size?

I know we don't give gifts on thanksgiving; however, there is no way for me to give gifts to my professor on Christmas. I have no idea how to connect her on Christmas. Do you think it is okay to give her gifts on thanksgiving and also tell her how much I appreciate her?
