My family usually doesn't have Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving because my sister is a police officer and almost always has to work.
Since my husband has to work Friday and Saturday, we are actually having our get together on Sunday as well.
Remember, it's not so much the "day" as the actual getting together and being thankful for being able to do so.

Having Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday sounds like a fabulous idea! It's not the day of the week that counts, it's the love you put into the food, the family and friends around the table, the joy of the day! Thanksgiving can be on whatever day you give Thanks for! You can always cook a small dinner on Thanksgiving day before he goes to work. It doesn't have to be a turkey meal. A wonderful brunch to send him off to work with good feelings of love! Sometimes in our family we have our holidays with family on days other than the holiday. What makes it special is the people, not the day! Enjoy your Thanksgiving and have Happy Holidays!!!

Definitely DON'T skip it...have it early, especially if it works out for your family. We are having Thanksgiving dinner the day before Thanksgiving since I have to work on Thanksgiving. And don't forget the Pecan Pie!
