as for me i will not work that day. see if you work in the hotel business you get that day off. i will get time and a half that day and when i get my paycheck i willl say omg so much $$$. i work at a marriott hotel and before 2002 i worked at another hotel where i had to work every holiday(sucked to work there)

I have to work on Thanksgiving, AND I work in a hotel. On the day of a holiday, business is absolutely dead here. It's the days before and after when people do the bulk of their travelling and checking into hotels so that they have the day of the holiday to spend fully with their families. I anticipate being bored out of my mind next Thursday.

First of all, not everyone at the hotel will have the day off. Who's gonna run the business while the guests are in town?
Second, I don't have to work, but a lot of my co-workers do. The world doesn't stop just because there's a Holiday.
Third, I get double time for that day, and I also got paid for Veteren's Day, so... I'll have more mucho denero that you will..., not like its a competition or anything.

i shudder to think what it would be like working in a hotel over thanksgiving with all those people in a bad mood from flying in the airplanes and being treated horribly by the airllines and eachother...
I bet the customers are complete monsters by the time you see them.

Nope, I don't have to work! Yay! We get off half a day on Wednesday, off Thanksgiving and we're off on Friday!!! All glory to the Lord!!
