Before I got married, a friend and I use to go to the Silverdome to watch the Detroit Lions every Turkey Day. Watching the great Barry Sanders make some of those unbelievable runs will always stay with me.

Once, one of the cats got loose from the room they had been shut in. Mom had scooped out most of the stuffing into a serving bowl; while she was taking that to the table, the cat jumped up on the counter and stuck its head into the capon (big chicken) and started chowing. It looked like the capon was giving birth to a big fuzzy meatloaf. Good thing we didn't have guests over!

It was 1957 and we had a snow storm to end all storms. We had plans to drive out of town so had no turkey bought. The man across the street owned the only grocery in town and he and my dad walked to the store and he gave my dad a turkey! I don't remember how my mother got that thing unthawed, but we had a full dinner on the table by 6PM

One Thanksgiving my great aunt had a can of Redi-whip topping intending to put it on a piece of pie. Well I guess she had it pointed in the wrong direction cus she squirted it all over my brother's face, covered his glasses, it was in his hair too. Very funny.
