If you tell me it's so that she does not attract men, then what about lesbian woman? And what about gay men getting attracted to other men? Shouldn't men cover too in this case?

NOTE: please don't misunderstand my question. I am not being judgmental to your religion which I really respect. I just want to understand, that's all.

Please tell me who you think is right:
A friend told me that if a husband tells his wife to prostrate to him it is her duty to do so. But I totally REFUSE to believe this. Because unless I am mistaken, this is SHIRK, which we know is the worst of all sins. May Allah SWT forgive me if I am wrong but I am certain that I'm not.
I know that a wife should respect her husband and be good with him but prostration is something we do ONLY for God, right? I am certain I'm right about this subject but may Allah please forgive me if I'm wrong.
So please tell me....who is right?? Me or my friend??

I don't cry the way Shias cry but certainly I get sad,really sad and tears does fall down by remembering that time. Its a great pain to all muslims, but only they were given the strength to face them. We normal people can't even imagine to be that powerful. May peace be upon all of them.

Just to let you know, this is a holiday that was founded by christians, but is NOT a christian holiday except insofar as it is a day to give thanks to the Almighty for all that we have. There are NO religious ceremonies associated with it other than a prayer at the start of the feast. Turkey is traditional, but the gathering of family and friends is what is important and there are no rules on what should be served.

I am Muslim and I though everything that is harmful is banned in Islam but G-d banned music and didn't ban smoking although the effects of smoking are much more dangerous that the effects of music.
How is that logical?

recite Ayatul Kursi before you go to sleep? I totally and completely recommend that you do! InshaAllah I always recite it before sleeping but last night, I was kinda just resting my eyes but I ended up falling alseep. I hadn't read Ayatul Kursi though. I had not just one, but a whole series of AWFUL, TERRIFYING dreams. I've never had such afwul dreams before. Please remember to recite Ayatul Kursi, it's for our own benefit!

We teach them the basics on religion because they are so young. We will let them decide later. Anyway, my question is, how can I make christmas extra special for him this year? Is there something I can do or buy for him to acknowledge ramadan a little late?

When making your salah do your kids seem to be more distracting? I have a one year old and three year old at home and as soon as I start my salah there they go...jumping on me, getting under the bed and the baby not being able to get out.
or He will just sit infront of me and stare, Subhanallaah..no wonder Allaah said,

Muslims how is your relationship with your neighbors? Personally I just moved and so my family and I is still the new people on the block, but all is good. My previous house my family and I (yes all of us) was close with my neighbors. We would help out with the kids/general things, and visit each other as neighbors would. Unfortunately no Muslim neighbors, now and then.

okay, we were doing extemporaneous speeches in my speech class and this kid incorporated his detention slip in his speech and it was funny, so he had someone read out the detention slip, it said: for talking, playing during test, blah blah blah, then it said also for making bomb noises!??? so i am laugh and so is everyone, like how do you make bomb noises, then this kid says jihad!!?!?! like s/he was going to get laughs, but i didnt see the person who said it...i was like: am i the only one who heard this?? there were other muslims in the class, they didnt hear it??

what do i do?? yell at the entire class? tell the teacher (not really an option)~~?? i was just soo suprised someone would say such a thing i was silent the entire rest of the class

Assalaam Alaykum

Alhamdulillah I got a job in a Islamic School, I left but they wanted me back (",) so I went back.

I have just found out about the pay it is relatively low, but this is not a problem for me, as what's more great them having a sense of Islamic principles and being able to adhere to them with out any one intervening and condeming...!!

For my family it will be a BIG problem!!!

What do I tell them?? I know if I tell them how much it is they will tell me to leave since I put so much hard work in!!
