that you cannot accept someone attempting to unite us all under the name of Islam? Can you only think bad things and attack those of us who are not as 'pious' as you, who are simply trying to learn and better understand the faith we have chosen to follow? May Allah guide you all. I am done here. I will continue to learn about Islam on my OWN, away from the anger and hatred I have experienced here. I was recently told that I am confused and my husband has a lot of work teaching me about Islam. That's true, but at least he does so in a kind and nurturing was and does not insult me when I question things. Anybody who does not question their faith, their beliefs and try to learn more is a fool and I am sorry for them. May Allah bless you all.

Many muslims are always criticizing the "cultured" Muslims because they practice Islam based off their culture. Islam is still an Arabic religion coming from Arabic culture, so is that the reason why any other person from any other culture should try to be an Arabic inorder to be considered a real muslim.

Seriously, if you have a Satellite, you can get a channel called PeaceTV. This is a channel where they are daily, 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, getting the message out that Islam is not what the terrorists are making it. They have various Imams and leaders, and also Zakir Naik, proving time and again that the verses they use are not to be used in that way and refer to specific times. They also try to teach born Muslims and converted Muslims Arabic so that they can see for themselves that it is not what groups such as the Taliban have turned it into.

I can definately vouch for the fact that most born Muslims are taught to follow culture first. I'm visiting Pakistan, and if I didn't know what I know, I'd judge this culture as Islam as well, but I know better. They claim to be Muslims, but here women don't have any say in their lives for the most part. That is NOT Islam.

What do you think of Peace TV and what would you care to share?

Its been a big problem in Muslim societies in western countries. It seems that the western media has achieved a lot of trust even INSIDE muslim communities.Muslims with little idea or knowledge of their own faith seem to be deceived atleast to a small level by the western"media"(or propaganda as I should say)

Some muslims get "lost" spiritually and mentally within...and turn to the deceptionism by the western media, blindly and unknowingly. This is harmful the community and can turn out to be a great misinfluence to other people

What I say is from a lot of thought into this subject. Its from ignorant comments from brothers and sisters, like "U r not a jihadi are u?"or "as long as u dont go for Jihad its ok for me!"

I think there are a lot of muslims here knowledgable enough to guide these members of our faith,Positively we can start showing the beauty of our religion - that it condemns terrorism, conflict and that it encourages modesty, logic and spirituality...

Almighty God be with us!

Is it becos every now and then somebody points out a 'devised' prediction or two and shows you how it 'fits' into this religious fear factor?

I asked this question already, but i got very few and very unsatisfactory answers. I just want to know what makes shafis different from hanafis, and what makes both of them different from hanbalis and malikis, etc etc. I know you dont have to follow one, and that all are correct, but....I just wish to understand what each of them do differently. =)
I would prefer a link to a site that could provide me with these details (note i want DETAILS!!!!!!!!) about the madhabs. Thank you =)

People are attacking each other, criticizing one another, judging each others faith in Islam, making ugly accusations and deciding for themselves who is a worthy Muslim and who is not. Is this how we, as Muslims, are expected to act? Have you forgotten what Islam teaches? Do you NOT UNDERSTAND that we are all at different levels in our deen, that we are all learning everyday about how Islam is and what is exected of us? Do you forget that ONLY ALLAH can judge us and it IS NOT YOUR PLACE TO JUDGE OTHERS?? I am sick from what I am seeing here and ashamed to say I share the same faith as many of you, because we are OBVIOUSLY NOTHING ALIKE. I may be far from the perfect Muslim, with sooooo much left to learn, but I am proud to say I am not at all like so many of you here. InshaAllah, we will all learn to become better people AS WELL as better Muslims.

I am surprised that not only non-muslims think that but also muslim men believe that they are promised by 72 vigins.
Here is the truth:

It has long been a staple of Islam that Muslim martyrs will go to paradise and marry 72 black-eyed virgins. But a growing body of rigorous scholarship on the Quran points to a less sensual paradise — and, more important, may offer a step away from fundamentalism and toward a reawakening of the Islamic world.

…The Quran is beautifully written, but often obscure. One reason is that the Arabic language was born as a written language with the Quran, and there’s growing evidence that many of the words were Syriac or Aramaic.

For example, the Quran says martyrs going to heaven will get “hur,” and the word was taken by early commentators to mean “virgins,” hence those 72 consorts. But in Aramaic, hur meant “white” and was commonly used to mean “white grapes.”

In many cases abortion saves the woman life. Sometimes the baby is sick and has so many health problems that are detected during pregnancy by DNA testing. The birth of this baby would be bad for it and for its familiy since it will suffer a lot after birth and the parents will have to worry about and take care of it all the time and buying medince is expensive. This is a problem especially if the familiy is poor. I know a family that has 14 daughters and all of them are sick. The family is very poor and they don't have money to buy medicine. They don't even have money to buy food and they beg from other people for living. I think this woman should have aborted the babies. This injustice for the babies themselves and for the whole familiy as well. I think abortion should be allowed at least in the first couble of months when the fetus is still not a complete human.
What do you think?

What is the point of disagreeing between shia and sunnis???......ok it is natural to disagree, but some people ( may God forgive them), have taken the hatred to a level of cursing and uncivilized rants- which is wrong in ALL PERCEPTIONS OF ISLAM...(cursing and swearing is haram, like it or not)

Its a really shameful thing and its something that has lead to the ravaging of dreams of the unity of the muslim brothers and sisters all over the world....
Shias and sunnis are brothers and sisters of the same faith. A few disagreements does not make either sect "non-muslim". And moreover only God has the right to judge who is muslim and who is not...

What we can do for now is to treat the other as muslims should treat other human beings. We all claim to be muslims and we all firmly believe in God being the judge of our actions. Why dont we work for a common cause then?

Ask and answer others politely, never curse and be nice to everyone(the Islamic way)
May God(Allah) guide and forgive us all

stand and throw stones at someone just because he decided he wants to read the Bible instead of the Quran, even if he assured the Muslims that he does not want to fight them or harm them or anything like that.

Do you really think that Allah wants you to do this ? Allah is just and merciful, and this punishment is not just nor merciful.

p.s. plz don't post huge stories, just would you or would you not do that, and how do you justify this as being just ?

if people hear us saying things like ''apostates should be stoned or beheaded'' then they have every right to hate us and think we're evil ? How can Muslims complain about ''discrimination'' when many Muslims have such crazy ideas like beheading converts to other religions. Don't you realize that this doesn't help Islam in any way, if someone wants to leave islam then good for them who cares, for every person that leaves a 100 others convert to islam, are Muslims so paranoid that they can't take it when someone disagrees with them? Sorry if this seems harsh but it's just unimaginable how many Muslims believe in these barbaric things, I am stunned at this myself... it's no wonder people hate Muslims.
