Many muslims are always criticizing the "cultured" Muslims because they practice Islam based off their culture. Islam is still an Arabic religion coming from Arabic culture, so is that the reason why any other person from any other culture should try to be an Arabic inorder to be considered a real muslim.

Yes, I am aware that the Religion of Islam is for everyone all over the world but Islam is not practiced the same way in every country... In many countries Islam is fused with their culture...
There is one uniform way to practice Islam, which is through Quran and Sunnah but many different cultures still keep many of their ancient traditions and have combined their culture with Islam

Thanks for your question.
I would like to say that Islam is an international religion but many Easterners think that true Islam means also keeping Arabic traditions. I
I don't think so. Do you?

U got it ALL WRONG my friend; Islam was noy based on the ara cultures; arab cultures at the time of the prophet were VERY unislamic and involved association with Allah, and many haraam things.
Islam was sent as a religion for ALL OF HUMAN KIND, and the jinns of course, but this religion has nothing to do with ARAB culture, except that the holy Qur'an was sent down in Arabic, that is why every Muslim has the obligation of trying to learn arabic, but not because the prophet was arab or anything.
u dont have to be an arab to be considered a real muslim, if u have noticed, arabs only make up 15% of the muslim population, leaving the other 85% all Non-Arabs!

Thank you Kimo so much great answer you have given..
I just want to add that if you look at the so called "Arab" culture before Prophet Mohammed(saw) received the message you will see that it was horrible..
Now for all of those who say Islam is a religion..
Islam is a way of life a comprehensive religion....Islam is not a religion that is limited in it scope like other religions..
Islam includes belief, worship, legislation, ethics, and all elements of a healthy ideal life for both individual and society..., if you look at Bedouin many of which had reverted to Islam you will see all were not from the Arabian peninsula..

Arabic is the language of Allah(swt) of HIS heavens....and yes many Arabs should be criticized for practicing Islam off of their culture. We all should follow the Quran and Sunnah not culture..

I understand pretty well what you are trying to say, that both the Islam and culture has got merged today. and we cannot ignore culture too if we are to survive in the world,or society. So called society. But this culture will lead you to know where but Islam can def. lead you to heaven or God forbid, Hell! depending upon your way of practicing Islam.
We can be cultural too, but should dress up moderately as to cover ourselves properly, Follow the basic rules of ISlam like don't listen to music, Fast during Ramadan, keep giving Charity, Offer 5 times Salah, Make dua to ALlah, read Quran as often as you can, if u r a girl then take care of your hijab and if you are a man make your women cover and take hijab, being a man and a woman too, keep your eyes and thinking Pious. Just try to be a Good Muslim and at the same time you can follow your culture accordingly.
Now our thinking that Islam sounds more arabic is because Quran has been written in Arabic and Our Islam revolves in Saudi Arabia and they follow the Arabic culture and thus we have got the impression of Islam being Arabic. Our Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) and Sahaba KAram (p.b.u. to all of them) they all used to speak in arabic, eat arabic style food, and dress likes arabs does. But as been said, every country has its own culture, that is Saudia's culture and Our Prophet did take care of the Culture too.
So just like the way he took care of the culture and Islam, we are to take care of it.

We People makes our Culture. being Muslims we shall make our culture accordingly, If you believe that some acts of your culture are not the part of Islam, then for sure you can avoid them.

Islam is a universal religion AND
Arabs are not an ethnic group .. according to the prophet (sas), whoever speaks Arabic is an Arab .. people in north Africa and Levant are not originally Arabs but they became so after they adopted the Arabic languages.

Arabic language is a part of Islam, that's why any Islam scholar should study Arabic along with other sciences of Islam (creed,fiqh,hadeeth,tafseer,etc..).

The companion of the Prophet (PBUH), Salman al Farisi (RA) was a persion. He deserves more title than many other Sahabis. Prophet (PBUH) have said of him that Salman is from Ahlu-Baith once when Muhajir and Ansar disputed over a matter whom Salman (R.A) belongs. To none of the ompanion is given superiority for being an Arab. The ***** Bilal (R.A) has one of the highest rank amoung them. So status or to be real Muslim is not considered by Culture but by Taqwa or piety and doing more Good deeds and sincerety.
Islam is a universal religion which broke all these barriers of cuture, language, colour, wealth etc etc. A Muslim who practices Islam and loves him religion will never look at these matters to consider another Muslim as his brother.

No, Islam is religion for all mankind. But hating Arabs is kufr because Mohammed a.s. and most of his companions were Arabs.

Non-Arabs don't need to embrace Arab culture, but they must abandon all non-Islamic elements of their culture. And also Arabs must abandon non-Islamic elements of their society.

For example, many Arabs like to smoke sheesha, that is haram, or do not recommended things like demanding high mahr, huge wedding celebrations where sisters gather in a hall with heavy make up and sexy clothes...

Non-Arabs: Turks like to worship graves, Indians have jahil things at their weddings, Albanians are prone to alcoholism, many Central Asians also, Central Asians like to watch Russian drama, Indo-Pakis like to watch Bollywood, South East Asians like to do inces, sihr and breed jinn, Africans are inclined to dancing etc. Of course not all, these are just generalizations. These habits must go.

Islam isn't a culture. It's a way of life.

Islam is not an Arab religion.

Its a universal religion (i.e. for every one)

Only 20% of muslims are of arab origin. 80% are non arabs.

To be a true muslim (one who submits to Allah) you don't need to be having arabic culture.
