In the quran, the letters Alif Lam Mim appear as a verse a few times....i dont understand why....what does this mean? What is the significance of these three letters? Please give me viable sources to look at...thank you =)

Also, at the beginning of surah 14, it says Alif Lam Raa....any reason for this? is it the same as A.L.M?

there are many theories about this, but broadly speaking, no one knows. They are a mystery that we will not find out until the Day. Wouldnt it be great if we did? I bet there is some phenomenal meaning behind all those letters in the Quran.

Alif Lam Mim, Alif Lam Raa etc this are Isme Azaam that is miracle of Allah. It has been said that if somebody can put them in a special order he can perform Isme Azaam that means miracles but Allah has done it that way that we will never be able to find this miracle because Allah knows that we human being will misuse this miracle. This alif lam mim does not have any meaning, at that time arab people use in their language. If u see the details of it so u can understand that arab people just use in their language. This doesnt contain any meaning. hope answer to the question.

these letters no one knows their meaning except for Allah SWT, and insha-Allah on the Day of reckoning, Allah will reveal to us it mean.
