I make du'a for Allah (swt) to give me Sabr and for me not to harm any one by my words or actions. I prefer being on my own in my room, listening to nasheed's or the Quran. Even crying to let it all out. Im the type of person who need's to break down in order to move on!! (",)

I have read all of the above posts and I have tried them all at some point or another. I have a condition called PMMD..you might not have heard of it..but related to the uum thing..it made the symptoms worse and unbearable. I thought I was
crazy. My mom wanted to get me a hotel room for two weeks when I was a teen Lol...I would cry, break stuff, scream at her,
and generally act like a lunatic. I got physical symptoms too.
Swollen and painful breasts even wearing a t shirt hurt me. Insomnia,irritable moods, depression, I am embarrassed at
this one but very loose and watery bowels. Heavy bleeding.
Water retention everywhere. Abdominal cramps so painful.
It was worse when I was younger. Now I know what to expect
and it usually lasts about ten days before and during. The doctor did put me on a medication. It helped then but it is not for everyone. Sometimes some kind of estrogen like a birth control if it is really bad works and this does not mean you have to be sexually active to take it..it is prescribed solely for the purpose of relieving the symptoms of PMMD.

Une ana great answer... We must as muslims remember to be careful in our behavior towards others. Also, concerning medication it is haraam to take any medication which has the potential to intoxicate the mind even for medical purposes.. Of course many people do not follow the Sunnah on this but Prophet Mohammad has forbid it..

I go into total isolation. Dont like to talk, laugh or do anything for 2 to 3 days, sight*. I tend to eat alot to, which is a good thing I barely eat on other times of the month.

I am not a female, but you should read the Quran, because the Quran it makes you feel secure and is the best medicine if you have faith..
Read that book called "Don't be Sad" Aaidh ibn Abdullah al-Qarni is the author of the second edition. This books first edition is originally from about 1000 years ago.

I usually drink PMS tea and some tea called Moon Cycle which is from a company called Yogi Tea. You can find it in health food stores.
I really helps to calm you down and gets you out of bad moods. It contains all kinds of herbs.
The teas (both of them) also helps to prevent cramps during your period. You have to drink it everyday when it gets close to being time for your period. Green tea helps you stay focused and awake during the day. So I recommend that also.

for me mood swings = temporary yet frequent depression...i just isolate myself from others and take time to reflect on things....i pray to God to give me courage and strength to be strong and brave..mostly it results in lots of tears and regrets,but i feel a lot better later on..

I lock myself in my room and tell everyone to stay the heck away and not talk to me until I'm in the mood to talk.. and I get on Y! Answers and answer other people's questions.. lol

I just got over this problem but I think it was PMS I just take it out on people not meaning to but normally I relieve it by just crying or watching a funny movie, or smoking shisha!
