I have only met my Dad once in my life about a year ago. Do I just send him a card for fathers day or do i also get a gift?

I was thinking about writng my dad a letter saying how great he is and how much I appreciate him. I am doing this because I don't have a lot of money at the moment, and neither does my dad. (My dad is one of those people who feels guilt easily, so he might feel bad if I got him an expensive gift) Is this a bad idea?

I will turn 41 in July and I'd rather just spend it at home with a home cooked meal. I don't want a cake, cards, presents or a song. At my ripe old age I can buy just about anything I really want anyway. I think after the big 40 people shouldn't expect a big party till they are 50, 60, 70, 80. You know, every ten years. But once you hit 80 you should have a party every year. By then the birthdays will be a blessing.

So ... what are the opinions of my good friends here on Yahoo, Answers?

My friend is obssesd with Harry Potter. Shes turning fifteen in early July. I want to try and put together a Hogwarts care package for her birthday present!! so far i bought a wand, im about to order a Serious Black wanted poster and two school books. I want to get some of the cany and fill a few cool jars with "potion ingredients". Im going to write her a letter on parchment like im her mum sending her the stuff during the school year.

so it turns out my bday is on tuesday and i have no idea what i want to do. i'm only going to invite two of my best friends bc we dont have that much room in our car and alotta my friends are out of town. anyways. i want to just do someting fun for the day (no sleepovers bc my parents have to work the next morning)i was wondering if there would be anything else fun besides going to the mall and shopping. i live near dallas, so anything around there would be great. please help!!!
