Which one taxes you more?
Though the festive aspect, really allows me to enjoy doing the chores, I feel the Thanksgiving is most taxing, because of the intricacies involved. And it does not help that the following day I have to get up early and run for the sale (but I am a compulsive buyer anyway, specially when deals are involved)!

In the past all kinds of Trick or Treaters came down our street. I gave out tons of candy. This year the street was empty except for eight trick or treaters. I'm stuck with enough candy to stock a 7-11. What happened?

for the past several years I have watched Christians get very upset that some businesses display "Happy Holiday" signs and have their employees use that as a greeting to customers, rather than Merry Christmas.

Personally, I don't think "Merry" is a greeting that implies any faith or religious respect to Christmas, it is a secular greeting. Why not "holy" or "Blessed" Christmas instead? Merry Christmas sounds very santa and reindeers to me, it does not bring the image of the nativity to mind.

Do Christians feel that "Merry Christmas" sufficiently honors the significance of the holiday?

Not including the jewish holiday.
Wouldn't it be nice for Christmas to be celebrated for a week, along with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and the other's?

During the holidays everyone wants to cook and brag what they think know how to cook. Cooking for me during the holidays is a wonder ful time for me and I know close families and friends will be at the house celebrating and having fun.

how can i tell my children i don't want homemade gifts? i saw them last night...with their big eyes and little giggles deciding what to make me! UGHHHHHHH! i want something cute from wal mart or target...something i'll actually use. i am not being ungrateful, just realistic. how many pictures can one mother have? how many homemade cards must i display that never stand up anyways? they can put their piggy banks together and buy me something nice if they really cared! i know i'm going to get "beat up" here...but come on other mothers out there...you know you really hate that homemade crap! how can i suggest a real gift this weekend?
