UGHHHHHHH! i want something cute from wal mart or target...something i'll actually use. i am not being ungrateful, just realistic. how many pictures can one mother have? how many homemade cards must i display that never stand up anyways? they can put their piggy banks together and buy me something nice if they really cared! i know i'm going to get "beat up" here...but come on other mothers out there...you know you really hate that homemade crap! how can i suggest a real gift this weekend?

I will give you a $50 gift card to use at the local strip club. That way you get some sort of 'action', even if it's from another woman. Hey, it's better than those scribbled on pieces of paper

if you aren't into the strip club I can give you $50 towards your purchase at the liquor store. And I'll toss in some instant lottery tickets and a half pack of Marlboros for ya.

Make the buggers work a lemonade stand after school and weekends for "your birthday and Xmas present money', In the winter when its 20 below I have my kids man a watered down "hot" chocolate stand 8hours a day on school days, 16 hours on weekends. I get great gifts now! No more paper crap for me!
P.S. The chocolate for the hot chocolate stand is melted down from their Halloween candies and really saves money!

Buy yourself something cute from WalMart or Target that you can use.

Accept their homemade gifts with grace and appreciation.

Stop whining -- and grow up. Use someone other than Britney Spears as a role model. Your attitude is unbecoming in someone who has children.

You are SOOOOOOooooo selfish. You think only about yourself. Why don't you go get what you want instead of thinking of taking their money that they saved. You should be happy even with a hug and kiss and by the way, i am a mother and i will collect these cards till forever. They are precious.

You are ungreatful.

Your children making you things is THEIR way of saying I LOVE YOU.

What you do is, you TAKE those gifts and you display them. PROUDLY.

There will come a time when your kids don't do it and you are going to miss it. So do it NOW. Then you can look back when your a little old lady and wonder why you were such a *****!!!

tell them you smelled a real nice lotion or soap at (store preference) and you sure hope someone will get it for your special day.
But,
include something like a family movie at 3pm, and you hope the entire family will participate,
AND the needed 'mommie time' say an uniniterupted hour for you to take a bubble bath, and read a magazine or whatever.

then have their Father, or some other family member drive them to (store preference) and get it for you.

no big deal....
kids are NOT materialistic, and do not think of "shopping".. it is incumbant on adults to plant the seed, and have another adult follow thru....

I love everything my daughters ever made me. I hope this is a fake question because if not you must be a real terrible mother. Why would you even have children? You sound like Sybil's mother. Shame on you!!!!!!!

Kids like making homade gifts because they think that you will like them. They also like using their creativity. I can't believe you want your kids to use their money to buy you something. Can't your husband or something.

If you really don't want homade gifts you should make a list of little store bought trickets and give it to them. Drop hints that you REALLY want the stuff on that list.

How about you dont NEED ANYTHING FROM YOUR KIDS!!!! Teach them to save their money and just spend the day with them. You are an adult and you're pouting because your kids won't use the money in their piggy banks to buy you something...rediculous.
