Which one taxes you more?
Though the festive aspect, really allows me to enjoy doing the chores, I feel the Thanksgiving is most taxing, because of the intricacies involved. And it does not help that the following day I have to get up early and run for the sale (but I am a compulsive buyer anyway, specially when deals are involved)!

It will be the Christmas - same reason as you, only that I am in UK and the Boxing Day Sale is the following day.

I find it sad and crazy that people get up the day after Thanksgiving to be at a store at 5 A.M. to spend money they do not usually have to go Christmas shopping. Most of the time you end up buy things that people really don't want or use. I am not cheap by all means but most have forgot ton the true meaning of Christmas. The birth of Christ. In my family we only buy for children and parents. The family being together for dinner is the gift for the rest.

Might want to give it a try this way you can enjoy the holidays.

For me (especially as a Long Term Single Parent) .. the most taxing cooking days are Thanksgiving and Christmas ...

Mainly because being SINGLE ... it means that I, and I alone, am the ONE RESPONSIBLE for those who enter my home .. and believe me, there is NO ONE ELSE to lend a hand (or even think about lending a hand .. why does it always seem that one's children or guests can't get off their rears to help even a bit by starting the dishwasher or scraping the leftovers into bins and scraping trash off the dishes).

I, too, get up very early the next morning for the AFTER Thanksgiving Sales .. and that is for sure (I look for specific items each year .. and as a Military Retiree .. I shop the Military Exchanges instead). So yes, I am VERY TIRED the next day, but, in actuality, I am making sure that I get the best value for my hard-earned income.

Christmas gets my vote. Only because the food is just the icing on the cake. You also have to worry about gifts. It's a stressful holiday! I have never gotten up at the crack of dawn after Thanksgiving to shop, so you're alone on that one. I'd rather sleep in and spend a few more bucks without waiting an hour in line. Happy Holidays!
