Was in the Navy. Spent most of the day on 4 on 4 off watches on the Bridge of HMS Invincible. What a wonderful way to spend your 21st

My 21st birthday must not have been to memorable, because I don't remember. I am 32 years old now. That is pretty pathetic. I know that I was dating my husband, but I don't recall. Isn't it funny how your priorities change? The only thing that I remember now is my children and their activities. The time goes by, and once you get my age, all of the stuff that you did on your 21st birthday and before or after, doesn't really matter. It's your family...they will be there thru thick and thin. The partying, the drinking, the nonsense that is involved doesn't matter. The look of your precious child looking to you for nurturing is far way more important. Don't get me wrong, I am all for a good time, but don't go overboard. Happy Birthday and have a "memorable" time!

I expect most people are going to regale you with tales of top quality debauchery and the like, or at the very least a wicked night out on the p**s!!

Alas, I was poorly with a kidney infection, and although I like a good party as much as the next person, I wasn;t in the mood- so never even celebrated!

I'm 22 now and still not made up for it! I'm gutted to be honest cos I've not had a birthday party since I was about 10 and the next big birthday isn't til I'm 30!!

Anyone wanna have a party with me in honour of my missed 21st? I'm in Cardiff, South Wales!!

Trying to find a novel idea for your or someone else's 21st, eh?

I never liked celebrating birthdays, mine or anyone else's; it seems a cheesy excuse to throw a party (I mean, really, does anyone need an excuse for that?), and, quite frankly, I don't need to be reminded that I'm getting older. And, honestly, I don't feel any different than when I was in college, and that was a LONG time ago; of course, there's the rheumatism and arthritis, and don't get me started on the knees and my back . . . ;)

Why can't we be like the "Alice in Wonderland" characters, and make every non-birthday an UNbirthday celebration? ;)

Regardless, for my 21st, I recall where I was, but I don't recall doing anything special (hmmm . . . they say the first thing to go is the memory, right?). ;)

It was bad, I was very pregnant had a few weeks to go. The day started with my husband smashing a lot of plates and telling me I would have the worst birthday ever. He went to work I got lots of pressies of my family. Then he apologised and gave me my gifts which included I.D on DVD which was great!!! then we were supposed to go for a meal after he had watched the football and my friend turned up which he was annoyed about and I ended up at my mothers house crying all night. He ruins every birthday I think its so he doesn't have to show he cares if he does. What did you do if you have had it

Had a Cheese & Wine party at home - my parents went out for a meal and left me to it!
It was the first time my husband kissed me! I was actually "going out" with his flat mate!!
That was 1958.
P.S. So sorry Linz - just read your post. My guy has become pretty difficult this year after a couple of strokes have affected his brain, but you should have something better than this.

I had a meal the day before with my family.

Went shopping and out to the pub for a party on my birthday.

Went to a club in London the day after.

And then the day after that went to see a band with some friends.

Good times :):)

I went to change my state ID, had a beer at a bar, and some guy got me a rum and coke, a guy at this bar.
I did not all of the sudden start drinking a lot, however. I had a vow in childhood I would not mess with alcohol too much.

I had a warm-up party at my flat and then went to Megadog with about 20 friends (yes, I was a raver back then...) danced our socks off all night and then went on to an afterparty at the house of asoem guy we vaguely knew from various raves. That was when things started to get scary - turned out this guy had been obsessed with me for sometime and had made a collage on his wall of photos he had taken of me (completely unawares) on random nights out! I couldn't get out of there fast enough....
