My parents have had a really rough year and cannot afford to buy ANY Christmas presents this year. They will be lucky if they can afford the mortgage this month. They of course will not accept any presents either because they are so embarrased. I am trying to figure out a way to spend Christmas with my mom and brother mainly without opening gifts or anything like that. Christmas is a HUGE deal to us and we have decorated the entire house with lights and gotten a tree already, but no presents will be under it. However my brother and I will buy eachother gifts and we will have to exchange with my extended family at some point as well. Any suggestions or advice on how to spend christmas day?

CNN Reports that virtual gifts are a hot item this year, like custom programmed MySpace pages or FaceBook pages. What would you think if you got one for Christmas?

I want to do something special with my boys on christmas if I can keep my mother not coming over my house. I am thinking about fixing a nice meal. I am fixing pancakes for breakfast and something for supper. After breakfast the boys would want to unwrap the presents. I need some idea want to fix for supper and some fun activities but they might want to play with their new toys. Also a nice night for me and my boyfriend if he makes it from being stuck out of state and trying to get here for christmas. But I want to spend time with hm after the kids are in bed. Thanks

Are there people out there in the world who have a certain
fetish for a good, sound Christmas story. Or maybe even
a movie. There are so many great ones out there.
Like The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. And Rudolph,
or even Frosty The Snowman. Which is kind of a
self pity film, if you ask me. But anyway, give me your
favourite Christmas time movie. Old or new. It does not
matter. My pick is The Christmas Carol. The 1984
version, with George, uh whatever his last name is.
The real Scrooge. List yours here on the panel.
And if I like it the most, you get best answer.

He is the type that really has everything already. He is young and has expensive tastes. I don't have the budget for expensive tastes, is there anything inexspensive I can get him without looking too cheap??

Note: He also is a health food junkie, so the typical cake and cookies thing is out as well.

I appreciate your answers in advance!

I am going to a Christmas party this Saturday and need to bring a gift good for a man or woman in the $20 to $25 range. I don't really want to put a whole lot of thought or time into this so I was thinking a gag gift (with gift reciept) would be the best. So what would be some good ideas?

I know people who have decorated for Christmas with blue and silver, gold and white etc. It looks nice and all, but it's not Christmasy if you ask me. Why do people try to be cool by being different, just for the sake of being different? It's corny and contrived.

Maybe we should change the Easter Bunny to the Easter Squirrel? Or instead of Jack O lanterns, we can start carving potatoes?

It annoys me because people try to change tradition, and I am a traditional, conservative kind of guy.

Anyone else get annoyed at this slap in the face of tradition?

I was just wondering. If you were to give gifts to all your nice friends, neighbors, co-workers, special someone, relatives, and your immediate family..... (woohhh!!! even saying it is a long list in itself already), how many people do you end up giving gifts to for christmas?

50? 100?

Oh, and how much do you end up spending? Include gift wrapping, shipping and the whole enchilada...
