Take clear plastic ornaments. Open the top and lightly squeeze gold/red or green paint down the sides(thin layers all around). Sprinkle glitter in before the paint dries or Christmas confetti. Screw the top back on and hang on tree! Wa-La!

I did this last year for Christmas presents and everyone loved them. Get the clear ornament balls, take off the top and drop some flakes of fake snow. Take a little styrofoam ball (like the 1 to 2 inch ones, depending on how big the ornament is) and glue it to the opening of the ornament. The draw a snowman's face on, using a orange piece of wood (or I used the tines off a plastic fork) as the nose. Glue cute ribbon around his neck as a scarf. Fishing line or whatever can be used to actually hang the ornament on the tree. And, since I used them as gifts, I took a silver paint pen and wrote "Merry Christmas 2006" on the ball.

These ornaments are cute and they are what you put into them. If you want to dress them up more or less I think they would work both ways.

They are also nice because you can add your favorite holiday scent to the stuffing and really personalize them to your own preference.

I make cross-stitched ornaments. There are several small Christmas-themed designs, and 2-3 inch frames that you can mount them in. You can usually pick them up in bulk at craft and hobby shops. I've made them for a bazaar, to tie on gifts, and I have several on my tree at home.

Check out AC Moore and Michaels. They have lots of cute things. Also, try Herschners.com. They are a craft website.
