He is the type that really has everything already. He is young and has expensive tastes. I don't have the budget for expensive tastes, is there anything inexspensive I can get him without looking too cheap??

Note: He also is a health food junkie, so the typical cake and cookies thing is out as well.

I appreciate your answers in advance!

It is a very small office, no, it is not required to exchange, but I feel I should. He gives hefty bonuses as his gift to us.

Get him a nice pen set for his desk. There are many stores out there that sell nice sets for a decent price. Rule of thumb, don't buy anything that touches his skin, ie tie, shirt, boxer shorts...this could be construed as a bribe or flirtation.

Ask what your other co-workers are getting him. Maybe you could all go in and get him a gift card to a nice restaurant. Good Luck!

Giving to "the boss" is always tricky. Price should not be the issue because he knows what you make. It is the thought tat goes into a gift that can make it special.

If it were me, I would buy one of those new computerized Rubic's cube.......relaxing, frustrating, and very unusual. He could leave it in a drawer or take it home, to finally solve it.

Otherwise, how about a paperweight? Or one of those small waterfalls (inexpensive) for relaxation? Donate to his favorite charity (they send letter without noting amount of donation)?

Is it the custom to exchange gifts at the workplace? That is so wrong. In any case, if you feel you must, perhaps a small donation in his name to his favorite cause.
