Okay, well, we don't have a lot of money this year, and I would be fine if it came to be that my mom couldn't afford to get anything for Christmas, because I've always been the "it's not the presents it's the family" one, but she wants to know what I want. The thing is, there's nothing that comes out and screams at me. So, what should I ask for? (Definitly not a gift card, I don't like asking for those)

Meaning that it doesn't feel the same to you as it once did when you were younger? It's like after all that build up to that day, and you open your gifts (that's if you even receive any), you get a 'Now what?' kind of feeling (at least I do). Now I'm single with no kids, so that may factor into why I feel this way, but I wanted to know other people's opinions.

I plan on getting my best friend of 4 years a really nice Christmas present (I don't know what yet). His three younger brothers, ages 7, 12 and 17 are cool. They're always fun around the house, I take them places when parents or older brother isn't around. I was thinking of getting the boys each a small Christmas present (maybe some candy & a $10 giftcard). Their parents also have been wonderful to me. So my question is: I am certainly buying my best friend something, but do I just buy presents for the brothers, for both the brothers & parents (and if so, what could I get them?) or just for the whole family?

My Grandmother passed away this week. My mom and I were very close to her. I want to give my mom a heartfelt present that would remind her of the good times all three of us spent together. I'm not buying anything for anyone for xmas today or this weekend because I think its stupid to wait in line at 5 am for half off tv's and laptops. I hate the crowds in the stores at this time of the year and the rude people. I just want to know who else is not buying anything this weekend.

I belive that you should greet people by saying Merry Christmas cuz when you say Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays, it seems like you try to erase the one thing that even lets us celebrate Christmas. The fact that that why its called CHRISTmas? Cause its Christ who was born that day.
