Meaning that it doesn't feel the same to you as it once did when you were younger? It's like after all that build up to that day, and you open your gifts (that's if you even receive any), you get a 'Now what?' kind of feeling (at least I do). Now I'm single with no kids, so that may factor into why I feel this way, but I wanted to know other people's opinions.

My children are grown, and unless my twins surprise me and come, they are military. This is the first year, no tree just a pretty porcelain manger, Mary, Joseph, 3 wise men, an angel and two goats.
I'm going to put the reason for the season back...I'm even going to send my Mother a card...I've donated ...so much in your name!!!. I'll have presents for my twins, and my grand daughter...And I'll buy myself a gift or two !
I'll eat well with friends maybe, if I'm alone its just one day..and I'm looking forward to the NEW YEAR, and I have a trip to look forward to.
This is the time of the year where people can become depressed. So plan something.
No its not the same as when you were a child...It's nice to have family then, but if not just remember its JUST ONE DAY !

Xmas still means something to me.....I have never had children, but I have neices and nephews. I have a bf of 6 yrs and lots of pets. This year we are staying home with the pets and plan on having a nice quiet Xmas, the pets will all get gifts!! LOL!! Love them, and it feels good to spoil them! I have no family here where I live at all, but my bf and my pets are special. My bf has family here, but he even wants to spend Xmas at home this year. We usually go to his sisters. I would be awesome if I could see my family then, I haven't seen them in years.....but it is not going to happen this year, again. Maybe in the spring. In the meantime, I am planning on having a great day!! Hope you do too!!

I think you need to re-think what is important in your life. Christmas can mean more than buying and receiving gifts. And I don't think you need to be religious about it either. Perhaps one day you will find a partner, perhaps you will have children, and then holidays takes on a new significance. And if that does not happen, well just try and enjoy the simple things in life and appreciate what you do have.

Christmas has never been boring to me. Sure, as a kid it was more exciting; a lot of gifts, big surprises, etc. But now I still have just as much fun. I love to decorate, and buy gifts for friends and family. I always make sure my gifts are wrapped and decorated elaborately. I make Christmas cookies. It's all about staying in the spirit! I try to surround myself with friends and family.

Ever since I stopped playing with and asking for toys..Christmas hasn't been the same. I think I even asked for a SWIFFER this year for Christmas. It's that bad haha. When you start asking for cleaning items, or items for your house and not you, it's getting bad!

My husband and I may not have enough money to buy for each other this year. It's our son's 1st Christmas so we're wanting him to enjoy it, which may mean us not being able to buy for each other which is okay to me, still kind of depressing though.

But yeah Christmas hasn't been the same since I've grown up.

How approximately present certificates to a spa day for them the two? My ex and that i did this a pair years in the past and it became into super...hair cut back, rubdown, nail clipping.....mmmmmm
