Some suggestions would be....
-Some movies such as Harry Potter 5, Shrek 3, or Ratatoullie
-A Chapter Book from his favorite book series.
-A more advanced board game such as Monopoly, Life, or Mouse Trap.
-And, if you can afford it, a Nintendo Wii or a Nintendo DS Lite?

GOOD LUCK & HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I just looked thru an LTD book and found a plastic tub of K'Nex for $18.95. K'Nex are sort of like legos, but a bit more challenging and with lots more possibilities. My 7 year old son loves them; my 11 year old daughter and friend stayed up till 1:00 a.m. with my 7 year old to build a ferris wheel, so they liked it as well. Playdough. I know it sounds childish, but again my 7 year old loves playdough and one of his 8 year old cousins will play with it as well. Buy several containers and a couple of kits (ice cream parlor, etc). Box of craft/art supplies. Paints, canvas, sketch book, colored pencils, markers, glitter, glue, designed scissors, stampers, etc. Remote controlled car or helicopter. Race track set.

Boys from the ages six-ten generally like airsoft guns, wii's, gameboys, nintendo ds, video games, and other stuff that includes todays tech. You could get him a new movie, boys sometimes like to have their own portable dvd players. They also like puppies, geunea pigs, hamsters, snakes, lizards, fish, and other animals. if he likes to read, you could get him book(s) or let him have his own email address, and mps players. But mostly boys thrive on video games.
