what are some of your family traditions? We like to go hunting after the kids have eaten and opened there gifts

My family open gifts on Christmas morning and then eat breakfast. Then we go out to anywhere. Last year, we went ice skating. The year before that we went to the mall. Then we go to church.

We have a Christmas pickle (German tradition). It hangs on the tree and the first kid to spot it Christmas morning gets an extra gift. By the way, our Christmas pickle is made of wood, but I imagine that it started with real pickles.

I make a dutch pastry called an Almond letter. I had asked my sons what was the one thing that made Christmas Christmas and the Almond letter was their answer!!

Christmas pudding!
We make it in November and everybody stirs it. Then it sits for six weeks, we heat it up, pour a little brandy on it, and light it on fire! It's the perfect dish.
