I totally agree with you and say Merry Christmas. Happy holidays and seasons greeting don't even sound right to me.
Christ wasn't born on Christmas but it is the day we choose to remember his birth.

First, Jesus wasn't actually born on Christmas day. Christmas isn't about Jesus for everyone, because originally it wasn't even a Christian holiday.
But second, I say Merry Christmas. Honestly, if I was living somewhere they celebrated Hanukkah and someone said Happy Hanukkah to me, I wouldn't be insulted. It's the meaning behind it that matters.

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
America started celebrating Christmas to celebrate the birth of Christ. Where it all started doesn't matter, Jesus is the reason for the season.

It's really a matter of respecting other people's beliefs.
If I know they're Christian, I say Merry Christmas.
If I know they're NOT, I say "Enjoy the holiday season."
If I don't know... I tend to opt for "Merry Christmas."
Remember, Hannukah falls at this time too!
