I have a ton of secualr stuff (santa, reindeer, snowpeople, etc) However, I am looking to add Christian themed decorations to my collection to decorate with this year. Christian stores are just so expensive anymore because the mass merchandisers rarely carry religious themed Christmas things. Is there any artsy stuff I can do that isnt too time consuming an expensive for a one income family? Thanks in advance for your help!

Any time I ask them, they always say they don't want anything. But obviously I'm going to get them nothing. What are good gifts to get for parents? Should I make something?

People playing the role of Santa Claus in Australia have been warned not to use his traditional greeting of 'ho ho ho' for fear that it may offend women. 'Ho' is a derogatory term meaning hooker or prostitute. Do you think Santa should quit saying it?

My sister is 19 years old, and I have absolutely no idea what to get her for Christmas.

I know what I DON'T want to get her. Body lotions, DVDs, CDs, gift cards, candies... Other people already get her those things, and I've made the mistake of getting her such things previous years---only to find them in her closet months later.

I want to get her something she can use. But I'm also on a budget. I'm only 16 and my income is minimal....

So I'm not that close with her. I don't know TOO much about her. But here's some info that may help:

-She travels 40-ish minutes every day to work, so her car is her life.

-She's not super girly at all, but she isn't a tom-boy. She appreciates feminine things, but she doesn't wear jewelery.

-She has a laptop, which she uses primarily to talk to her friends.

I can't think of any hobbies she has... I'm at a loss. I really don't know what to get her.

It would be great if you could help at all, any ideas. Anything...

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make a Christmas tree look more unique?

My husband and I were married in April, this is our first Christmas tree. We bought red, light green, and silver ornaments, white lights, silver strands of beads and a red star to put on the tree but it still looks a little ....blah. Does anyone have any ideas to liven it up a bit, without adding any other colors?

It amazes me how people will go into debt buying gifts. What's the purpose ? Your credit gets ruined if you fail to pay on time or end up getting laid off or whatever. The day after christmas everthing you spent boo koo bucks on just went 50% to 80% offf ! I find all this gift buying for the retailer not the consumer. Its obsurd. The best gifts of all are the ones from the heart. Look at what it has done all over the world...the children that feel left out because they dont have a gift under a tree if they have a tree at all on christmas morning. This Holiday as we created it in tradition has created heavy hearts. Is that what Christmas is supposed to be ???????

I am a teacher and I drew the principal's name. We give a small gift each day for four days(just a couple of bucks...like candy and such) and then we give a $10-$20 gift on the evening of our Christmas party. My boss is very wealthy...she will tell anyone that "camping to her is staying in a four star hotel"...that is a direct quote. I have the small gifts covered...but I am having serious trouble thinking of the "big" gift.

I just finished watching "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" on DVD. I can't see any reason why the doll is a misfit toy. The doll has her own website plus a reference to wikipedia. Wiki states the doll is a misfit due to pyschological reasons. I think that's a load of garbage and not what the show's producers originally had in mind. So my question to you folks is: why do you think the doll is a misfit ?

IF YOUR A KID I'M NOT RESPOSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU READ IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT SO IF YOUR YOUNG AND SEND ALL YOUR LETTERS TO SANTA CLAUS SO HE CAN DROP BY YOUR HOUSE, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. NOT MY FAULT WHAT YOU LEARN.

What does your Christmas list consist of this year?

Was ther ever a gift you wanted so badly and you thought you wouldn't get then surprizingly did? What was your reaction? OR Was ther anything you thought for sure you would get but then you didn't? How was your reaction like?

What was the best Christmas gift you ever got?

How old were you your first Christmas (months wise)?

When did you top believing in Santa Claus?

Did you pretend there was a Santa for younger sibling(s) when you grew older and knew he didn't exist? OR did older siblings pretend that they still believd in Santa for you?

How did you parents tell you about there not being a Santa?

Do you pretend for kids/grandkids/ now?

What is you favorite part / memory / tradition of Christmas ever?

Or, how do you start off your Christmas season?

I've realized lately that the first holiday movie I see as Christmas approaches is often Miracle on 34th Street; indeed, I saw part of it on WNBC-TV yesterday as I was preparing to go to my cousin's house for Thanksgiving. Then this morning, Wynonna Judd sang "O Come O Come, Emmanuel" on The Today Show, and I said to my sister, "I hear that song and I feel like Advent has started." (The first Sunday of Advent this year is December 2, 2007.)

So, what kicks off Christmas, or "that Christmas feeling", for you?

I host an annual Christmas party, and do a gift exchange.

We have played the Right/Left game, and the game where you draw a number and steal each others' gifts, and many of the variations of that game.

This year I am looking for a unique game for a gift exchange. Any ideas?

Our group is usually large (30 + people, and children).

Your interesting and unique ideas are much appreciated...

Thanks!
