There are SO many Christmas instrumentals. You might be thinking of "Carol of the Bells", which is often performed with just bells, but also has words, and is just as often sung by a choir.

The first thing that comes to my head is a song by the Mannheim Steamrollers...not quite sure what song it is. Hope that helps...maybe try googling them.

a main one that had lyrics but doesnt usually have them is carol of the bells. great song.
