everyone says happy holidays these days but i dont understand how u can offened someone by saying merry christmas?

Yes, I get offended when people say happy holidays or seasons greetings.
The reason for a "holiday season" to begin with is because of Christ's birth, thus, CHRISTmas!!!

Not everybody in this world can have a Merry Christmas. There war and people fathers are in there it just not Merry but Saying Happy cheer you up because you want to be happy and make all the people who can't have a Merry Christmas have a happy one.

People that dont celebrate Christmas, come to offense if you say that.

Merry Christmas I only say on the day. Happy Holidays is what I say elsewhere.

I say Merry Christmas to family and friends. To people I don't know well, I say happy holidays.

why would I get offended by "Happy Holidays?" I wouldn't expect them to say Merry Christmas if they don't celebrate it... and them not celebrating Christmas isn't offensive to me...

I'm not Jewish, but I'd never be offended if someone wished me Happy Hanukkah...

no. i celebrate christmas and hannukah and i personally think its stupid when someone says happy holidays. there is nothing wrong with saying merry christmas.

it might be because they dont celebrate christmas cuz they have a totally a differt religion.that might be it.
