I'm not buying anything for anyone for xmas today or this weekend because I think its stupid to wait in line at 5 am for half off tv's and laptops. I hate the crowds in the stores at this time of the year and the rude people. I just want to know who else is not buying anything this weekend.

Good grief! I don't go ANYWHERE near a Mall or Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, etc today. Not even the movies!! I use this day to clean the house to get ready to decorate for Christmas.

I'll start to think about shopping next week. My family and I have scaled back the gift giving over the years. We still do, but not to the extent we used to. Too much stress, spend too much money and it takes away from the real essence of the season, whether you are religious or not.

Have a great, non-commercialized holiday season!!

Me! I hate the rude crowds, and I have few presents to buy. Thought about going early to see what a couple stores had, but decided not to, I'm putting Christmas up and catching up on correspondence instead.
The line at a local Best Buy made the news, clear down the drive to the end of the building. Wow, more power to those people. I guess if I wanted to have a certain thing, and my budget was limited, I would have been there.

No way jose! I just recieved an e-mail from my best friend and she and her sister went shopping this morning and she recalled how regular adults were fighting over something in the store, like a t.v. or something. I mean, being at a store super early does not always bring the best out of people. And it just seems dumb to me to go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. As my sister brought to my mind a few years ago," the previous day was a day for thanks and now you are fighting over materialstic things?!". Yesterday was thanksgiving and a day for being with family and being thankful for what God has given us and the next day people wake up at 3AM to get the best buy at a store. It is like telling God that you just want to be thankful one day of the year and that you would rather get a good price on something for his birthday than make something from the heart.
Anyway, to answer your question, no, I am not going shopping today or thing weekend.

I am working today, so no "Black Friday" shopping for me.

I may go out this weekend depending upon the weather. I mostly have to buy gift cards, so it's not too stressful.

I do agree about the rude people. Christmas shopping seems to bring out the worst rather than the best in people.

I KNOW!! its SOOOOOO crazy what people will do for sales and all that junk!! I mean dont get me wrong i like getting a bargain but i mean people were actually camped out last night in front of stores!!

Honestly, someone needs to smack them in the face and say GET A LIFE!! Maybe then they will wake up from their crazy rampage!!

I couldn't imagine getting up at 4 to go to a store just because of some prices, and ur not even guarunteed that you will get anything!! SUCH a waste of time!!

Its crazy what this worlds become....

I'm on bed rest so I'll be doing all of my shopping online...and besides I worked retail and vowed never ever to contribute to the insanity.

im not!
i shop during the week when i have a day off!
and at lunchtime, the shops are a lot emptier, no buggies with screaming babies in them, they are all in pizza hut or mcdonalds with their mothers!
lol....
really is the best time to go, shop assistants actually have time to talk to you, or at the very least-look like they dont want to rip off your head!
