Is santa dead? I've come to the conclusion the that he didn't come last year because he died of high blood pressure, Type 2 diabetes coronary blood disease and sleep apnea. What do u think?

I am on a committee at my office that will decide on a theme for a party for the 200+ people that work for my company and their guests. The party will be held in a large room at a local church, so no alcohol is allowed. Last year we did a Fiesta Theme which was fun, but I think it would fun to do something else this year. We do way too much with BBQ, hamburgers, and hotdogs too. So I'm hoping to get an idea that has some more elegance in it this time. Most of the people in my company seem to be religious, so it would be alright to have a religious theme I think. Thanks for your help in advance!

If Jesus was born in the spring, when things were growing and beginning, why would the celebration of his birth be in the winter, when everything has died away? Why is it so close to the name Zeus, the head god of another religion? Why is Mary the name of King James's sister? Why is Joseph another family member of King James? Why do people follow a selfish king such as King Constantine who changed the Sabbath to Sunday? Even in the Spanish language, Sabbath & Saturday are translated into sabado. Why doesn't the Bible speak of Jesus's travels to India? Why doesn't it say he was wealthy? He was the decendant of mighty, King David?...just why?

I live in another state away from my immediate family. My boyfriend invited me to spend the holidays with his family this year, which would definately be easier on the wallet than flying home for the holidays. I've close with the family, and have known them long before we were ever dating, but come Christmas, we will only have been together for 4 months. Is it too soon to be spending the holidays with them? I don't want to rush into a serious relationship, but I have been great friends with him and his family for a long time... What do you think?

Okay, I know that the acualy Christmas Day is 12/15. But it starts before that day. And it seems to start earlier every year! Last year, we'd barely recovered from Xmas '04 when we began planning X-mas '05. So when does the holdiday season start for you? When do you pull out your decorations and music?

I'd prefer that only people who celebrate Christmas answer, but I'm always open to learning about other winter holidays.

During the holiday's my family celebrates together...this is at least 100 people! Since you can't possibly buy gifts for everyone we no longer do, but usually have a grab bag. Last year was my daughter's first Christmas (she is my first child) and although we don't give gifts, a lot of my aunts and cousins bought her a little something. This year there are 4 new babies...am I expected to give them something now that I have a child???

I have already seen christmas things on sale in some stores, I walked past some tree decorations in a shop the other day and I couldn't believe it! It's September and ALREADY they are forcing christmas down our throats! It's no wonder that when it comes to Christmas Eve people have had enough of it already! It just seems to get earlier and earlier each year! The shops want our money already, is there an escape to these holidays being rammed down our necks?
